After about a year of hearing how great air fryers are, I broke down and started shopping for one myself. Stayed away from the air fryer's with teflon in them, and found this non-toxic gem. Wish I had purchased one of these a long time ago! I've made veggies, tofu and appetizers, and everything has cooked great! I like that you can see it while it is cooking! I've been putting a cutting board under it in case it gets too hot, but I don't think it would be an issue if I used it without. It is easy to clean, works quickly and has to use less energy than heating up the regular oven! ... show more

I checked out the reviews (as always) before buying... when you do the math, the bulk of the complaints have to do with the size of the fryer and the cook times...this fryer is big but it can fit in a bottom cabinet space but there's no need... it looks fine sitting on the counter and I use it too often to worry about storing it...great for breaded food and non breaded... the fryer works AWESOME! I was able to cook a full bag of chicken at one time... the best item was pork chops...OMG... juicy inside, crispy outside and no grease. Definitely promote this product to everyone of my friends who have families. It's bigger than most and costs less than most of the other fryers out there. The only food that I tried that I prefer to cook outside of the fryer is breaded fish... it just needs the oil flavor but that is my opinion. Also, don't follow the cooking guide to a tee, most of the items require extra cooking time but definitely get one of these!!! It is worth it... eating healthier and losing weight... while I'm at it...you won't believe how it works and how good the food tastes until you try it...so BUY IT! ... show more

My family discovered "cyclonic" air fry convection ovens over 30 years ago, and we've been using them ever since.. Air fry convection ovens cook crisp like an oven, but heat as quickly as microwaves! If you enjoy quick, crisp, hot food this may change your life forever. We love it. We bought them for friends, family, uncles & aunts, everyone. I even took one to college with me Eventually, the heating element/bulb WILL break in these type of ovens and usually the entire device must be replaced. {This is always such waste.. It would be more efficient & globally responsible if the design allowed the simple replacement of the heating element/bulb) We've gone through 7-8, I've taken them apart to diagnose and repair them, so I feel comfortable and familiar with these type of large air fry convection ovens. THIS one is very very good! Almost Excellent!!! Combination of heating element, halogen bulb, and IR hits high temperatures extremely quickly (vs slower halogen bulb ovens). Cooking time is enjoyably short. Excellent large tempered ceramic glass bowl provides a large space that accommodates more food at once. Glass bowl is also the best surfacer to minimize the hassles of cleaning. Steel racks appear of high quality and makes washing amazingly fast & easy (so far). WONDERFUL inclusion of a steel basket for small items! - extremely useful! It's unique, & the 1st time I've had one included with product. One design flaw prevents absolute Excellence: dial timer mechanism has absolutely no precision. Timer mechanism does not correspond to the visible settings, and heat does not correspond to timer mechanism or the visible settings. There is no way to set the device for small increments of time under 5 minutes. The device timer does not provide precise cooking. The excellent heating element, halogen bulb, and IR can quickly achieve the high temperatures asked, but the imprecise, 5 minute variance makes cooking challenging and risky. Timing errors when cooking at high temperatures can quickly and easily burn food beyond recognition. *Designer, please improve the Timer feature. We, your clients, will thank you. ... show more

EDIT January 5, 2024. It broke already, less than 6 months of use. I noticed when I lifted the top to turn over my steaks. Normally, lifting the head unit using the handle causes the handle to raise and the unit to shut off. Raising the handle no longer causes the unit to shut off!!!!! I cook steaks in this. After a bit of a learning curve as to time/temp it does a pretty good job of producing medium rare. I find it works best when cooking from frozen. A note on the glass bowl, it's very easy to chip the edges, especially when washing in a large, enamel sink. Maybe a stainless sink would be a little easier on it, a little less apt to chip the glass if you manage to tap it, but anyway what I do now is leave it in the plastic holder, place it in the sink, carefully wash and rinse, etc. That all being said, one night I left the high cooking rack soaking in a couple of inches of soapy water. (The rack was upside down of course.) The next morning it was rusty. A week or so later I left it again, and next morning it was very rusty. The metal is some kind of cheap white metal, and who knows if it's toxic. It leaves greenish color on paper towels used to wipe off excess grease, and on the sponge. The photo shows partially washed rack. Just wanted to let people know the rack is made of some kind of cheap metal, and I am now looking for an actual stainless steel replacement. ... show more
