  • Absolutely EPIC Brushless RC Car
The media could not be loaded. This is my first brushless R/C car, and I am absolutely in love. It did about 30 MPH right out of the box without even a full charge. In terms of handling, this thing is great on dirt, gravel, or asphalt. I have yet to test in wet conditions, but I gather it will handle just fine. In terms of price, I feel that this is a fair price, considering it is a beginner to intermediate level brushless 1:10 scale R/C car, and that there are plenty of brushless R/C cars of the same scale which go into the hundreds, and sometimes thousands, per unit. I think this is a great starting point for someone like me who has only ever messed with brushed motors before, and wants to get into brushless motors, and go a little bit faster. I stand behind this car, and it is my third car from Bezgar. Great company. Great customer service. ... show more

  • Ready to go, Super Fast, Durable, Fun 4.5 stars
This thing is really ready to run as advertised. The LIPO battery has a bit of power in it (ran for at least 10 minutes) . I just needed to add 4 AAA batteries into the remote and it was ready to go. Although be forewarned, the throttle trim may not be set right, causing the car to lunge once paired. If you wish (and it is not necessary) you can add the wheelie bar and wing with a few bolts. This seems like a true 1:10 scale car. It is larger, larger than anything I have. The wheels are big, it has great ground clearance, Handling - most high powered RC are kind of out of control when you run them. This one was not. This thing handles better than anything I have driven. The large tires and wide stance help that greatly. I've yet to flip it with aggressive turns. Now, this is 14+ rating and I certainly wouldn't let anyone under 10 drive it. It is just a rocket, has some weight and could hurt someone. Components - from the metal chassis to the brushless motor, lipo battery, metal drivetrain.. Everything seems beefy and solid. I like the short bumper in the front, and it seems less likely to break. I slammed into a curb and it did its job. The oil filled adjustable shocks are set fine out of the box. No bounce whatsoever. This allows for great grass driving and also bumps and jumps. There are replacement suspension arms, included if you somehow break them. The electronics are superior to what I've been used to albeit at much lower price points. The ESC has a cooling fan and can be programmed according to literature and indicates it is waterproof. I'm not going to test that out...Standard Deans connector for the battery. I'm not a big fan of the on/off switch right in the middle, but it works. The instruction manual has a parts breakdown should you need something additional. Remote - Kind of cheap feeling, but has all the bells and whistles. I'd like to see an upgrade here but it works. Steering, throttle trim etc.. you can adjust with the throttle trim... There are a few adjustments and sometimes things get out of whack. I'm not a big fan of this remote. The battery location is odd for me, it's in the pistol grip. Turn it upside down to find the plastic release and go from there. It becomes quite apparent. It doesn't stand very well when sitting on a table. Battery and Charger - 2s 3300 mah 7.4LIPO... gives me at least 20 minutes after several runs. Charges in about 4 hours. 800 Mah charger, and 3300 mah battery. It comes with an entry level LIPO charger that just works. Nothing fancy, it does the job.My first charge ended up as a failure (Blinking red) . I am not sure why that happened (let the battery cool down after running, maybe not long enough) But I haven't had an issue since. Grass driving - handles great! the best off road handling rc I have used. The larger scale, tires and ground clearance and oil filled adjustable shocks handle the thick St. Augustine grass with ease. Although the torque is amazing, it grips the ground nicely (cool to see grass flying) and doesn't bounce around much at all. It is a joy to run in the grass compared to other rc's I have driven. Pavement Driving - The torque is amazing. I don't think the wheelie bar is necessary and it doesn't come installed. So maybe keep it off and see how it runs. I think it has to do with the brushless motors. They seem to spool up instead of instant torque. It's nearly instant and I think the build up help keeps the car stable at launch. In terms of top speed, I couldn't get my equipment to gauge that. I do think the 60 KMh is close to accurate, it's the fastest RC I have driven. Wrap up - It is ready to run. This thing is fast, super torque. Has quality components. Seemingly durable, I bashed it without issue and had lots of fun doing it. I haven't had as much fun nor been impressed with an RC quite like this one. While the remote isn't as heavy or beefy as I like it, it does the job and doesn't take away from the fun. Wish it had extra pins and an extra battery. Note: there are no lights on this RC and not sure why you would want them. ... show more

  • Very FUN, hobbyist-grade RC car. Comparison with HM101 (Bezgar 1)
I had owned several, hobbyist-level, remote control cars over the years — the kind where you can literally take apart each component, upgrade parts, and tweak your vehicles to your liking. They generally cost several $100’s. There are also less expensive ones that I allow my children to play and practice the controls with. This particular Bezgar HM102 is a good, intermediate-level vehicle with excellent, all-terrain, waterproof performance. I also own the very popular, excellent Bezgar 1 (HM101) that I had been recommending for the past, three years to my beginner friends. Both the HM101 and this HM102 (costing nearly twice as much) are good for different skill levels. Here is what sets the HM102 apart from the Bezgar 1 (HM101): - Faster at up to 42 mph (up from HM101's 26 mph) (That's 68 km/h, up from HM101's 42 km/h) -- At that speed, it's nearly impossible for a beginner to know how to control, and if they are not experienced enough with the remote, that can result in crashes that could cause some injury or damage - Motor: Brushless 3650 or 540 (instead of HM101's 3656 or 550) -- 3650 = 36x50mm. Smaller size means less weight. - Battery: 3300 mAh Li-PO (instead of HM101's 1600 mAh, though two are included). Larger capacity means longer drive time - Remote: More refined and variety of controls, including speed limiter Is the HM102 worth the price over the HM101? Depends on what you are looking for. If you want speed and raw power and slightly better efficiency, go for the HM102. If you want something that works well for beginners and intermediates, the HM101 fits the bill. PROS - Large size at 1:10 scale -- Looks VERY cool at such a large size - Replaceable parts - Feels hefty and solid (as expected at this price point) - Metal parts brings extra durability and increased performance -- Adds a more satisfying sound when accelerating - VERY high speed and goes over most terrain, although it loses a considerable amount of speed and power off pavement -- 4WD and threaded tires allow it to go on practically any terrain, including wet ones --- Tires (in conjunction with the shocks) have excellent shock absorption --- Makes it fun to drive over ramps for some insane stunts - Waterproofing allows you to play in a small puddle of water (and heavy rain) without worries - Power: up to 900W TIP: Metal components contribute to increased durability and performance. - Simple paint job with a speedy feel - Smooth control in relation to steering and power - Charger with 1 rechargeable 3,300 mAh @ 7.4V Li-Polymer batteries included that allows for almost 45 mins of play, depending on what speed setting you have it on -- Bring a portable battery station to charge your spare batteries while you play with the other one -- Buy extra 3,300 mAh Li-Polymer batteries for longer play time - Remote control signal goes quite far (up to 260′, according to the manufacturer) -- It uses the 2.4 GHz radio frequency, which allows for larger distances over the 5 GHz ones --- 2 AA batteries included for the remote -- Speed limiter to adjust for the skill level of the operator --- Allows the RC to drive slow enough for a kid to practice steering without the car disappearing or crashing into obstacles - Came fully assembled CONS - Pricey - No functional LED headlights, though that's not something I care about (but kids do!) - VERY high speed can be difficult for many to control -- Keep in mind that there is a throttle limiter available on the remote to help slow down the truck for easier control - Learning curve for amateurs not familiar with hobby-grade RC transmitters FINAL THOUGHTS For children over 8 years old, this remote controlled car is a FUN truck to drive. It is made of quality components, has a long battery life with a rapid charger, and bounces with 4WD over all sorts of terrain and speed ramps. Because of its price and speed, I do not let my children play with it much, especially at FULL speed. Crashing an RC at 42 mph is no joke! ... show more

  • Incredible Power and Speed!
The media could not be loaded. My first thought when I opened the Bezgar HM102 was this thing is heavy. Taking it from the box I notice that the bottom plate of the car is made of metal and all the components are mounted to the plate. After I charged the beefy 3300 lipo battery with the included charger, I placed it in the car and powered it on. I could not believe what happened next when I pulled the throttle trigger - the car had speed as I have never seen before in an RC car. The initial impression of it being heavy went from wondering if it would affect the speed and handling to one of appreciating the way it is designed. The brushless motor puts so much power to the 4 wheels that all of them will spin briefly when starting and the oil-dampened suspension allows the car to land softly when it is jumped. It can go through grass and really moves on pavement. If you want an RC car that is next level I highly recommend the Bezgar HM102. ... show more
