Tried to hang it multiple times (as can be seen above) with drywall screws rated up to 100lbs each but each punch just wiggled it out further and further. Almost wanted to return it but ended up getting some 2x4s and directly screwing them into studs and then mounting it onto that. It's fully extended (height) and holds up well with my 100lbs bag. Just set it up today for my home gym. The room I am using in my home is pretty small in order to maximize space this was a great option, I took another reviewer’s advice and used 2x4s I really didn’t want to fail setting it up the first time like it falling or anything like that. Not that I intend to use crazy weight on it but wanted to do it right the first time. I have a barn and needed a hoist to allow lifting items to an elevated storage area. There are no easy solutions for a manual sidearm that can be moved to the side and has an adjustable length. This one is perfect. I bolted it to a sturdy support beam and attached a pulley and rope system. Easy install.... Make sure at least one of your mounting sides drills all through 2×4 for maximum sturdiness. Rated 4 stars because it swivels just a tiny bit - You can *shimmy a piece of steel if it bothers you. I added a spring myself due to a heavier Warer bag ..... Really nice build considering the price. The rotating feature doesn’t fully secure in place so there’s a bit of squeaky when punching that can get annoying. Overall not a bad set up for space efficiency.

Zero instructions and the mounting hardware is beyond terrible. For the life of me, how hard is it to include a sheet of paper with the correct size items needed? Also, charge a little more and include better mounting hardware!

So I recently purchased this bag hanger because I wanted to take up less room in my garage gym. It seems to be made of excellent material and the welds look good. My primary concern is that the back plate is too small, and didn't have enough mounting holes. It says this thing can hold 800 lbs, but I have a 150lb bag on it and it definitely bends slightly. Because the plate is so small, it's tough to mount to a wall. Most people aren't going to have a 8x8 to mount it in to. SO, I had to get a 2x12 and mount THAT on the wall first, right into the studs. Then added another 2x12 piece on top of that, to give more substance for the lugs attaching the hanger to the wall to grab onto. So there's about as much support as I could provide given the dimensions of this hanger. When I strike the bag and it swings, I just fear one day it's going to pull right out of the wood, it's just a matter of time. I do have an uppercut "donut" that attaches to my heavy bag, which I can place on the floor to limit its swinging, and that seems to relieve a lot of the stress on the wall. I wish the backing plate was at least wide enough to go right into studs, but also longer, to provide more support when the bag starts swinging. Perhaps shorter, lighter bags aren't as much a problem, but be wary mounting a large, Thai bag. Plan ahead at how you can safely and securely mount it, knowing that the plate will be too narrow to drill into studs. ... show more
