Renown internationally as a manufacturer of boxing equipment, Everlast started out as a swimwear manufacturer in 1910. Headquartered in the Bronx, NY, the company was founded by 17-year-old Jacob Golomb. The son of a tailor and an avid swimmer, Jacob Golomb was dissatisfied with the durability of swimsuits because they barely lasted a season, so he began making suits that he guaranteed would last for a full year. He proudly gave them the name, Everlast. Although the swimsuits did not last through the years, the name did. Over the next years, Golomb expanded his company into a small retail store that carried a full line of sports equipment. In 1917, a young fighter named Jack Dempsey introduced boxing to Golomb and Everlast. Dempsey asked Golomb to construct protective headgear that would last more than 15 rounds of intensive boxing training. Golomb specially designed the training gear for Dempsey. In 1919, Dempsey won the worlds heavyweight championship wearing boxing gloves made for him by Golomb. Everlast became the headquarters for boxing equipment throughout the world. In 1925, Golomb designed elastic-waist trunks to replace the leather-belted trunks then worn by boxers. These trunks, now known as boxer trunks, immediately became famous. Jacob Golomb ran the business until he passed away in the early 1950s and his son, Dan, took over. In 1958, Ben Nadorf joined Everlast and purchased 50% of the company from the Golomb family. When Dan Golomb passed away in 1995, Nadorf purchased the familys remaining 50% interest. Nadorf remained the President and Principle Share Holder of Everlast until October 24, 2000. Everlast mens and womens apparel and accessories continue today to be tremendously successful both inside and outside the ring. In addition, Everlast boxing trunks and equipment remain the proud and undefeated champion of the boxing industry for more than 90 years. The history continues, as the name states. Everlast has a traditional past and a knockout future. What's in the Box? Training bag holder, hardwareManufacturer Warranty 1 year

  • Works like it should.
So far so good. Many options on Amazon from other vendors but I just went with this and have no regrets so far.

  • Works Great
I put this in more than a year ago for my 125lb bag and it's still holding strong.

  • Strong and tough bracket
Using it on my full size punching bag, holds very sturdy on a large wood beam.

  • Feels sturdy after buying 2x 3 inch lag Stainless steel lag screws at Home Depot
Only reason why I didn't give this 5 stars was because I went to Home Depot to buy 3 inch lag screws to install on my ceiling beams. I installed this in my basement. I went to HD to buy 2x 5/16x3" lag screws, stainless steal. The stainless steal costs a bit more than the zinc but I think it is worth it. I think it was $2.63 per screw. I also purchased 2 of the nylon washers. I just finished installing this tonight so I have no idea how it will hold up once I start to actually use it. Once I tightened the lag screws, one of them was not fully I and hanging towards one end. I think I messed up when I was drilling the pilot holes and my drill was a bit slanted. The pilot bit I used was 7/32" ... show more

  • Great Heavy Bag Mount - Recommend Covering the Support Screw!
Purchased this Everlast Boxing Heavy Bag Ceiling Mount to use in combination with a heavy duty spring, and a 60lbs. “Aqua” bag. Materials feel sturdy enough, and the assembly instructions are pretty straight forward. My only grip is that the screw that supports the bag is metal and has the sharp edges from the screw part. Everlast should add a small PVC sleeve of some sort, so that it isn’t metal on metal when you hook up your spring, or bag hook to it. Instead, I used electrical tape around the support screw to help prevent the deterioration that will occur from the frequent movement of metal on metal. ... show more

  • I would recommend
Very good quality, I use it every other day and throughout my workout routine-which includes the Everlast 70 pound bag and Weider Ultimate Body Works (all of which are great products too!). Anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes constant motion - this is attached to a wood I-beam, I drilled holes into the support and filled the holes with liquid nails and then mounted the hanger. I waited until the next day to mount the bag and so far, great, no worries about it pulling away from the wood beams or any structural issues with the hanger itself. I'm sure I'll have to tighten up the screws on the pivot and bag mount. The product(s) arrived on time, as described by Amazon & manufacturer, it was shipped without issue, arrived within prescribed estimates, the packaging was undamaged, and the product itself was unmolested and made with quality materials. Description, photograph, website presentation, and what arrived are the same-size, shape, color, and it matched my expectations. ... show more

  • I like the concept of the design it was a great ...
I like the concept of the design it was a great idea, the execution on how they put it together is extremely flawed, as pointed out by many of the other reviewers. The biggest issue, and I saw only a few other comments on it, are that the size of the bolts per the instructions are completely different from what they actually are. I mean they are not even close, how the Everlast QC missed that is beyond me, you can look at the bolts and tell they are way off from what the instructions say they are supposed to come with. The hardware is complete crap, my recommendation is to throw away the nuts and bolts and go to lowes/home depot and pick you up some new hardware. I did this and it cost me a whopping 2 bucks. Like many of the other reviewers said, for the center bolt that holds the rotating bracket, it WILL come loose as you are punching your bag. And your bag WILL fall, and can cause some serious injury. Avoide this, and use the two nuts with a locking bolt in between, use some lock tite too for good measure. As far as the bolt that comes with it that actually holds the bag, the threads are exposed to the ring you will hang your bag with, and therefore strip the threads and also make a noise that makes you think the thing will not hold your bag. Get a 3/8 and 2 1/2 inch bolt and you shouldn't have to worry about the threads being exposed. If all else fails you can always place a sleeve over the bolt as well. Easy stuff to do, but frankly Everlast should have their stuff together before putting out crappy hardware like that. I'm surprised they haven't done anything about changing the hardware and improving the safety of this system by adding the additional bolts and lock washers. It literally would only add $1 to the cost. Anyways, after you modify it yourself, it's awesome and fun to have! 5 stars to this thing if Everlast cleans up their act and fires their QA guy. ... show more
