Did a lot of research for speed bag platforms and this one was the best in terms of price point, quality and customer ratings. A lot of the reviews said it didn’t come with the lag screws to mount it to wall studs and so I went to Ace Hardware in advance and bought some only to find when my package arrived and I opened up the box they had included 4 lag screws. The location I placed it at the back of my garage is a bit odd because of the space and the studs were not 8 inches apart and didn’t line up with the holes on the speed bag frame that are 24” apart and so just like a lot of other people in the reviews I bought a 2 x 4 from Ace Hardware and had it cut into two 28 inch pieces. I have some tools but I’m not particularly handy and didn’t want to risk messing things up so I got my handyman to secure the two by fours to the wall studs and the basic frame of the platform to the two by fours and I did the rest myself so I could enjoy the experience of putting the final touches together. You will need a second person to help secure the board as it’s solid…I recruited my wife and daughter to help. I’ve used a speed bag 10 years ago and was still teaching myself at the time so I’m very rusty but my initial impressions as a novice are the materials are all solid so far (obviously the true test will be how everything holds up over time). Some reviewers complained about the swivel or the bag but I’m assuming this may be intermediate to advanced users who may be more picky with certain nuances. My initial use has found no issue with the responsiveness of the swivel or bag and no vibration/rattling from the platform that others have reported as the board is heavy duty…only problem was my lack of skill. The instructions aren’t the best (they rarely are) but the set up is not rocket science so it’s pretty straightforward. I will say the pump that comes with the bag is absolutely horrible and I’m glad I have a bicycle pump as it would have taken forever to inflate the bag with the one provided! Initially I thought the bag was defective because no matter how hard I pumped with the provided pump the bag was still as flat as a pancake! So far I’m very pleased with the look and feel of everything and it’s a great addition to my home gym that I’ve wanted for a while and now finally added to my wife’s chagrin! ... show more

I did a lot of researching for a decent set up. I knew I didn't want something that would rattle, but didn't want to pay $400 plus for a high end set up. This is a great compromise. Comes with a nice and heavy 1.5 inch board and solid mounting system. I had to add 2x4s to mount it to, but that was easy. I was able to set it all up by myself, just took a little thought. Hint..., screw the boards to the wall, install the 2 vertical pieces only putting the top screws in loosely, then mount the rebound board to the triangle pieces, and slide onto the 2 vertical pieces and screw it all together. Seems like really good quality rebound board and bag..... definitely good enough for a beginner like me. Highly recommend ... show more

I bought this on the rec of a reviewer who said it was stable and it’s easy to raise and lower without marking your wall. You can take his word and mine. These statements are true. I’m a beginner and I built the wall behind the Sheetrock with plenty of support, but it doesn’t shake (and won’t as I get better and faster) and it can be raised and lowered easily. It’s just my wife and me, and she’s not into it, but if you have kids messing with it, your wall’s probably gonna get dinged some. You probably already know that, though. Overall seems a good quality product. A piece came broken and contacted customer service, they replied back within hours a new piece through regular shipping. The quality of the speeding bag itself is pretty good. The instructions can be improved but it is not difficult to build, generally speaking.

Everything has been pretty solid with this speed bag, but the speed bag just randomly deflated?! It’s only been used a little bit by my 9 year old so a bit odd. A replacement bag would be helpful!

I bought this set last month. The speed bag won't stay inflated. The set was easy to set up and I really liked the platform kit. But I can't return the speed bag without sending everything back. Who would want to tear down their platform to get a new speed bag. Other than that I would rate it a 5 star. Gary Cook. (I WOULD LIKE TO ADD). Contacted Amy Wang customer service.
