The quality is incredible, extremely durable (very heavy) and even though it recommended 2 people for set up, I was able to put it together myself (granted it took 4-5 hours instead of 2 hours). It’s built really well, the instructions for putting it together are pretty straightforward, just long and many steps. The value for the money is great. I had all the parts I needed and some spares. Everything was in mint condition, no damage or anything. If I have to be really nit picky, there was some smudges that I noticed on one of the front pieces but I had a white paint correcting pen that I used and it mostly covered it. The media could not be loaded. If you are looking for a great looking fireplace to add to your living room or done, this is a fantastic option. It is visually aesthetically pleasing. It definitely set the vibe and atmosphere for our holiday season this year. It really was the cherry on the cake and it makes cracking. Sounds like real wood is burning and the heating option is great. It does take about an hour or two to notice a temperature difference in our living room some smaller, living rooms might notice it different. If you go close to it, you will warm up quick, but it will eventually warm up our living room after running for a few hours, overall we love it. It is a great material but installation is very lengthy. You will definitely need to be handy with tools to get this together but overall I rated five stars and recommend this product. ... show more

We have this gorgeous piece of furniture in our bedroom and we couldn’t be happier! First let me say how well packaged and protected the pieces were in the box which is a good thing since the UPS guy thought he could carry the 100+ pound box on his shoulder. Needless to say the box went over his shoulder and hit the ground hard. Thankfully nothing was damaged. It took my husband and I a couple of days to assemble it since we took a lot of breaks to rest our old bones! The heater (which arrived at the same time as the other parts) is not on in the photo, but it does work well. We love the crackling sound and the dancing “flames”. We are looking forward to a cold day to really put it to the test. This product is highly recommended. The mantle came in 2 large heavy boxes. They looked pretty beat up; but when I looked inside, I noticed that they were packed very well with cushioning material. No damage. Whew! I spent all night working on this, so I wouldn't recommend this to someone who hasn't the patience to sort through a stack of wood boards and hunt for the bag of screws. The wood is particle board, but not quite as flimsy as most particle board is. It feels like solid wood. To start, I recommend laying out all the pieces out according to the 3 sections that you'll be building (mantle and 2 side shelves). The two side shelves are the same, so you can build both endpieces at the same time before tackling the mantle piece. Once it's done, it's quite stunning. I was expecting it to be short, but the mantle with the foliage decoration does reach a real fireplace's height. (the plain one doesn't) When I turned on the fireplace, I got more than I expected. These fake fireplaces tend to be very poor imitations of the real thing. This one was pretty good! When it's off, it gives the illusion of the depth of a real brick fireplace. When turned on the wood and flames are pretty good. --Not that you can't tell, but good enough to make you consider whether fake is better than having to scrape ashes out later! My only issue was that the bolts holding the 3 sections together (on the final step) did not grip well enough to hold the pieces together. The 3 pieces (2 side shelves and mantle) come apart, even after you've driven the screws in there as far as they can go. It needs screw caps or something. That's why I'm not giving it five stars. I love it. I think it was worth the money and I hope it lasts. ... show more

After moving during my divorce three years ago, one of the things I was most sad about was losing my real wood burning fire place. Of course, this doesn’t make up for it entirely, but I am enjoying it so very much. It puts out a good amount of heat, and I love the look of the flames and logs. What really sold me on this heater that most others do not have is the sound option so it sounds like a fire crackling. I love this thing! It is so beautiful. It is definitely a quality piece, with it being over 150 pounds all together. It’s pretty big and looks very nice. The fireplace and the mantel came in two separate boxes but delivered at the same time. Took about 2 hours to build.
