I ordered this ball joint press because whenever I have a ball joint that needs to be changed, the FREE rental ball joint press at my local parts store never seems to be available and my job winds up getting delayed until it is returned and available for me to use unless I want to pay to rent one at a rental center. This time I needed it to change the ball joints on a 2005 Silverado 1500. I always use my 36" breaker bar, with a pipe if needed for leverage, to get the ball joint to snap loose. It's a lot more work than using an impact, but the job went smoothly. I had heard sometimes the threads can get rounded/stripped if an impact is used with this type of press. I still have one more set of ball joints to change for my brother and I won't be needing to wait for the press to be available when I do his ball joints. I have another ball joint tool that has a smaller C section and it's really no comparison. This thing is made to hold up under some serious pressure. The case is well made and everything fits cleanly. Screw threads into the body cleanly all the way and all the sleeves seem to fit up well. My husband used this recently to repair my car and it was handy to have. He didn't need to rent or borrow a tool, and this is a pretty good quality ball joint puller. This set has a nice heavy duty C-clamp and a decent set of adapters that should work for most common applications. I was able to remove lower and upper ball joints on a rusty 1990s Suburban with this kit. Also worked for ball joints on a newer F-150. Has worked very well so far and should last.
