  • Great blower, but pretty thirsty
I purchased this because my Husqvarna BT150, although good just wasn't giving me as much power as I wanted. I am fully satisfied with the power of the unit and the effort required to start it is much better than the Husky. Weight isn't bad and controls are fine. The power is great! It really delivers and I would estimate it's about 30-40% more powerful than the BT150. The blower has a huge gas tank and holds a bit more than 1/2 gallon. It needs it too since it sucks through that within about 45 minutes if using the unit at high power. This wouldn't bother me that much if I didn't feel I had to use a high octane ethanol free pre-mix. I'm going through those cans of pre-mix fast and they are not cheap. I've had the Husky for probably 9 years and always just used unleaded regular with a 50:1 additive and never had any carb issues. It also lasts about the same amount of time as the Echo on a full tank of gas and it's tank is probably only about 1/2 the capacity. I guess I can't complain though since I knew what I was getting into. I've used Echo equipment at my home for many years and I trust the brand will last if maintained and give serious commercial grade performance. It seems to be worth every penny paid and I'm hoping for at least a decade of serious use. I have a large property surrounded by trees with probably 1.25 acres fully landscaped. It's worth the investment for me, but might not be for others. ... show more

  • Excellent High End Backpack Blower
I purchased this blower on Amazon from Mowpart. It was less expensive than available locally and included free shipping. They had a week to deliver it. I ordered it late Friday and it arrived early Thursday. It was easy to assemble. I don't expect any gas issues. I buy non-ethanol gas from a nearby Wawa. I add the 50:1 oil and stabil to a gallon at a time. It's a lot less expensive than the premix and I've never had a problem. I would not use local ethanol gas in any two cycle. Just asking for trouble if you are an occasional use homeowner. To my surprise it started on the the first pull. It has a large gas tank, but i only put in about 1/2 gallon. I was on the shelf between the Stihl and this blower. I'm glad I bought this one. It was less expensive than the Stihl BR-600 and appears to be more powerful and lighter. I was surprised how light it is. I have a John Deere Backpack and 3 Stihl handheld blowers. This thing blows them all away. It's moves some air. I know they rate them in Newtons now. I don't know and don't care what a Newton is, but this thing will blow Sir Isaac Newton out of his grave:) ... show more

  • The best mid- to upper size backpack blower on the market
I had a PB-770T for 7 years that provided 100% flawless service. I have to admit I have all Echo equipment because it simply works and is for me at least 100% reliable. I used to run Stihl equipment but their 4-stroke/50:1 fuel-oil mix technology was a huge issue with many engine failures in the beginning, plus their equipment, although well built, lacks in power compared to my Echo tools (Chain saws, trimmers and blowers). Stihl currently has nothing coming even close to the Echo PB-8010/9010 blower! Echo is truly commercial grade with a fantastic warranty. I sold the PB-770 I had for such a long time last fall because I bought Echo's new largest blower the PB-8010T. The 770 is great until you get to huge piles of wet leaves and technology has moved on to create even bigger more powerful blowers. The 8010 is excellent for our fall work because it simply moves everything and we love this unit. But for certain clean-up work it is actually too large and powerful. I regretted selling the 770 because for smaller jobs and a more focused airstream it works far better than the big 8010 i.e. blowing grass clippings. The airstream from the 8010 is massive and less focused so stuff will blow into all directions if it is just grass clippings or a few leaves. The 770 has a far more focused air stream to direct and move the debris where you want it. Now I have both again and they are a perfect pair. The 8010 can't be beaten when moving massive amounts of leaves, even when wet, and the 770 is perfect for smaller and summer jobs than the 8010. These are the best blowers on the market in my opinion. ... show more

  • More power than the PB-580T
It has more power than my 580T but it does use more fuel for sure. The choke switch is very hard to move and the gas tank cap is way too close to the engine compared to my 580T and with big hands hard to grab. If you don’t push on the priming bulb at least five times on the carburetor it has a hard time starting. It also is a lot louder than what I was used to. It’s nice to have more power but with a few quirks. ... show more

  • Powerful, comfortable & lightweight.
Starts first pull Every time - just follow simple starting procedure. Plenty of power for large areas and precision cleanup in garage/ porch at idle. Unit is no more cumbersome than an average backpack, easy on and off. Large fuel tank = more productivity. Blower stores easily with tight gas cap, no fumes or dripping fluids. ... show more

  • The product met and somewhat exceeded my expectations
Easy to use and capable of mowing piles of leaves of any size. Not as quiet as advertised and heavy, but comfortable so you don’t feel that weight at all. Couldn’t figure out how to put together the tube and had to watch an assembly video on youtube. Easy to start. No issues so far.

  • Very Powerful. Easy to start.
I had a Husqvarna 150BT which was a solid performer for many years. This one appears to be about 50 percent more powerful. I live on an acre lot surrounded by 5 acres of large trees. The amount of leaves is prodigious, but this new blower moves them very quickly—even when I let them get 6 inches deep. It starts more easily than the Husqvarna and it finishes the job much more quickly. Excellent investment. ... show more
