I do think the entrance is large enough for my 20lb 10 month old to crawl through, but thankfully I can lower the door enough for my cats to still slip through but not the babe. It feels very sturdy and quality. We use it at the top of our basement stairs. The kitty litter box is in the basement so i

Gate is doing it's job very well. I wanted to wait to see if the cat door was going to come loose from the other reviews I read. They must have improved it for the door has been holding steady and makes for a great escape when the dog gets to friskey for the cat. She can zoom right in and then of cou
rse sits right out of reach and you can see her smirking!. They play well together but those certain times of the day when the dog gets the zoomies. I'm glad kitty has a safe place to go if we are not there to referee. The gate sits very well in the door way, fit perfect, and is very sturdy. We have an Anatolian/Great Pyrenees mix and she has leaned on it but it doesn't move. Hopes this helps and I would buy again.

We use this gate for a new puppy to limit her ability to roam the house without having to limit our cat’s access to the houses. Works great. Sturdy and easy to use and install. My only concern is for people who want to put this at the top of the stairs. The bar across the bottom is somewhat of a trip
hazard. So be careful.

I’ve had this for about a year now and it has worked so well for me, when I got it the piece holding it up to see when it was elven had fallen off but I still managed to get it all level. We have a dog and a couple cats. The gate works fantastically, however, the cat door can slide down fairly easily. We check it regularly so the cats are able to go through.

This gate was working great and then the door started falling out of the end. It stays in place but the door falls out now. I don't know why this started happening and it's really frustrating. I'm past my return exchange window and even bought a second one which is working great. Frustrating as now I
have to put the door back in when we use it.

Working very well for us, so far.

So, to start with, I have not screwed anything into walls or doorframes; the pads that come with the gate seem to hold very well under pressure, and I'm dealing with pets, not toddlers, so decided not to "ruin" my walls or newel post on the steps. It seems to hold quite well, keeping the cats "safe"
from the dog (they mix well now, but not at first, and we still keep the litter and feeding areas separate). Opening is less tricky than I thought it would be, but you do need your hold hand to "squeeze the trigger" and then lift at the same time - once you get accustomed to it, it works fine. If you've got it aligned properly, swings closed on it's own. The only problem I had was the little door - I wanted it always open for the cats, and the dog could paw at it and force it closed, so I simply removed it leaving a permanent rectangular opening that works far better for us.

By far,this is the best pet gate ever. I have 2 cats and a dog who likes used kitty litter (ugh).
