I recently tried the Doctor-Developed Hernia Waist Belt, and it has been a game-changer for me! The adjustable straps and compression pads provide exceptional support for both left and right sides, ensuring comfort and stability throughout the day. I was impressed with the high-quality design, which feels durable yet lightweight. It’s perfect for anyone dealing with abdominal or groin hernias, offering the right balance of compression and flexibility. • Excellent brace and pressure pads. Front to back straps may be a little short if you size down.
Size: Small
This Doctor-Developed Hernia Waist Belt is very good. * The velcro holds are very strong. * The pads, 1 set flat-still thicker than other brands, 2nd set round, provide more pressure / support than other belts that come with just flat pads. * The compression is very good. * Low profile and not very visible. The only issue I have with mine is that the 2 velcro straps that is supposed to go from the front of the brace to the back are too short. I'm not over weight at a size 32 waist but these straps feel like they'll cut off circulation. Docking 1 star for the short straps that are not usable. There are ways to make these straps a little longer (I have baseball catching gear velcro straps that are 6-8 inches long and can extend these. I have back braces that completely cover over this so the short straps aren't even needed. Hopefully a couple of these suggestions can help someone else who find the straps short. ... show more

  • Belt has options and accessories needed. Extra bells and whistles not needed.
Size: Medium
This is a pretty basic belt that does the job it was designed for. It does seem to run a bit larger than desired, with this device you need it tight to do its job. To get the proper pressure I have to fasten the end of the belt almost past center. The Velcro does grab there so not a big problem but would be better fit if smaller. The legs straps seem to be something that reviewers have different opinions on, some say too long and some say to short. Mine are too long but I found that the strap will Velcro to itself and so instead of attaching directly to belt I ran it up and around the belt and connected to itself. In front just attached normal. This belt works great and is as comfortable can be for a tool. The price is great and it does the job. Just order a bit smaller and for the straps I am sure you can make them work. ... show more

  • Size Down
Size: Small
My bf has a double hernia but is awaiting for surgery. He says this hernia belt definitely helps him but the size is a little bit big. He normally wears a a size medium so I order a small figuring it would provide better compression and as he wears it the elastic would stretch. He says he wishes that the small was actually a bit tighter so you should probably size down. Overall 7/10 ... show more

  • Best I've tried yet
Size: X-Large
Although this is a review of a free product, I give you my word that my reviews will always be unbiased and truthful. First off, ignore the size guide. These run large. If you are big guy looking for one of these, you are in luck. The XL size listed shows up to a 47. I wear a 48 to 50 depending on the cut of the clothing. This fit great, and still had plenty of room to go thanks to the elastic waistband. My guess is that it would still fit a 54 just fine. The leg straps are generous to say the least. That also means that they do not cut in. The padding is comfortable, and the pockets for the pads a well placed. It comes with 2 sets of pads so that you can choose the set that fits your needs best. Overall, this one is a win! ... show more

  • Comfortable to wear but size seems to run large
Size: Large
My hip circumference measured at 37" and according to the sizing chart, I was to order a size large - which I did. Upon using it, however, it seems to be quite a bit too large as the groin straps are about 2 to 3 inches too large. I ended up having to fold them over at the back and attach them to themselves as well as fold them over the front of the belt, attaching them on the inside of the belt. The wider strap, which goes around the hips/waist also seemed long as it wrapped around the front, coming to rest about 3 inches past my center line. Once "adjusted, however, the belt was fairly comfortable to wear while standing and did help with the slight pain/discomfort I was feeling from my bi-lateral inguinal hernia. While sitting, however, the top edges of the pad inserts push up against my belt buckle which then sort of presses in on my belly a bit but it isn't too uncomfortable and is manageable.. I should note that putting it on can be a bit challenging as the instructions say to attach the groin straps first. While holding the part of the belt that goes over your groin with one hand, you are to attach the groin straps with the other. For me, however, the straps, which had velcro, kept getting attached to each other making a tangled mess. I found that by attaching the waist/hip belt portion loosely first, it freed up both hands to then attach the groin straps after which I then would better cinch down the waist/hip belt portion. The one pic I'm attaching shows how I 'looped' the groin straps over the back portion of the belt to shorten the groin straps enough to allow them to attach properly to the front of the belt. I'm going to see about exchanging this for a more proper 'small' size to see if it manages any easier and fits any better. ... show more

  • Under leg straps are way to long.
Size: X-Large
Not sure who they are building this for, but I wish they would size it according to say a normal size guide. I usually where XXL, shirt and say sweat pants. I ordered the XL hernia belt and the under leg straps are probably 2 times the length that is usable. I think I should probably have ordered a medium. I'm not even sure, but XL must equate to XXXL or something. The waist strap is also too big, which I guess that makes sense, but that does tighten enough. Basically I can't use this belt because the under leg straps are so long you cannot tighten it down enough to be useful. Maybe I'll have my wife modify the straps. otherwise quality seems good and I think overall it would work well if the straps were not so long. They need to add a sizing guide to the product page. That may have helped. ... show more
