The detachable strap attaches easily to his chair and keeps the cushion in place when he's getting into the chair and when he wheels himself around.     • Comfortable for lower back trouble
Ordered this for a family member's wheelchair. They love it and can comfortably sit for longer periods of time now, where discomfort used to be a reason for them to get back into bed, instead of staying upright and active. 3" depth seems to be ideal(this product), the 4" seems to sit too high where their feet can't reach the foot pedals. The person using this is about 5'10". Auvon, if you're reading this could you please put the depth at the top of the description instead of having to scroll all the way down find out. I'm having to return a separate product that looked similar to this one for someone in a larger chair, but the depth wasn't stated as 4". This particular one seems to be very good quality, is just the right thickness, definitely provides pain relief and has good stability when placed properly in the wheelchair. ... show more

I ordered this primarily for going to sewing retreats. The Hotel conference chairs are uncomfortable when sitting on them all day and into the night. The curved front and the thickness of the pad, are what made me choose this item. On my first retreat I noticed a huge difference in my comfort level. This is the second pad I have ordered for my Mom who is permanently in a wheelchair. It is the best seat pad I have tried and really holds up. It is thick and she has not had any sores or pressure problems. She used her first pad for well over a year. Replacing is preventative and not due to any problems. This is a nice cushion. Pros: Arrived 4 hours after I placed my order. Now that's fast. Comfy. It fits the ENTIRE seat of my wheelchair. I'vebought other cushions that didn't. They slide around too much. Cons: Foam compresses too much. While it does bounce back rapidly, I'd prefer it didn't "give" as much. The tie-down straps are way too long and there's no way to shorten them enough. All in all, it was worth the money just to have a cushion that fits the chair. I have to add this addendum: After using this cushion for a few weeks I can honestly say that it's the best cushion I've ever purchased.
