The media could not be loaded. I had written a long beautiful review and it went away attaching pictures. So I'm going to start over. I bought this box first in May of this year 2024. I am very gun shy about purchasing automated litter boxes. I was an early adopter beginning back in 1997 with a litter mate open box but it was automated. Then in 2005 I bought an lr1 and that was for $500 back in 2005 long time ago and very expensive people thought I was nuts. Oh but I loved my lr1 so much so I decided I like the LR 2 because it's got a cut out in the back which lets light in cuz it's an all black ball inside so it's very dark at night. I still to this day have my LR2 so it's going on 20 years old I have replaced the motor on it I think three times but other than that it's worked flawlessly. And a motor over 20 year. Especially that one has a very small motor that's why it's so loud it's putting a lot of strain on that little tiny motor so it's not surprising that I had to do that over almost a 20-year period. So I bought a new house and decided I wanted new litter robots. Of course I was very loyal to whiskers products so I bought not one not two but yes I bought three lr3 connects without doing any research. OMG, biggest mistake I ever made and it was a very costly one. They have been the worst nightmare ever, they have substandard boards and substandard sensors so there is no fixing them. You will just be replacing sensors over and over and over again. You will need to do deep cleans and I mean take it completely apart wash everything but be careful not to get the boards wet and then it's got to dry long enough so you have to use the manual box while it's being deep cleaned. And the new style of drawer something about it it really leaks stink bad. And so people are doing all kinds of inserts trying to get around the stink. So they must have used a substandard plastic that is very porous and absorbing the stink eventually all plastic will smell but my old 20-year-old LR2 doesn't smell as bad as my three and a half year old lr3's both of those boxes every time I dread opening the drawer because the drawer itself stinks and of course the bag inside so I quickly close up the bag and I only use the very thick bags. Needless to say I am now disabled so I'm unable to number one do deep cleans of these heavy boxes number two tear them apart and put new sensors, I physically can't do it anymore. Shame on that company for using such garbage substandard electronics. I used to build computers so I know exactly what I'm talking about I am not some typical person who is not a high-tech person I sold software to businesses I built PCS so I know both hardware and software. This box is about the sixth different box that I've tried since the lr3 debacle. So when I say I was gun shy about writing a review I just didn't until now. We're at 6 months right now of continuous usage with zero, yes I said zero errors! I've never had to do a deep clean on it it stays clean on its own! That's a huge concept for me because lrs all three versions do not stay clean they get very grimy and gross. This box after 6 months all I have done is taken a wet wipe and gone inside and just gently wiped at the rake other than that zero cleaning. It is silent you will hear the litter inside the globe move that's the only sound you'll hear. It's wild! So I love this box so much I brought in another cat into the house so I keep him in a room by himself because I've yet to be able to get him integrated with any other groups. So I bought a box just for him and of course it was this one and I love it I literally set it up took me 10 minutes since I had already done it and I'm very familiar with the box and away we go. Already had the app because I have the other box so I just added a box to my app and and I renamed it so I've got one that's called first floor box and another one that's called second floor box. It's pretty accurate with the weight of my cat and it tells me exactly how much time it took them to go to the bathroom and get out. And it doesn't even wait I mean that's been the big thing with lrs oh let's wait 15 minutes you know for the clumping litter to clump hard enough to handle the rotation this one literally he climbs out of it and within a minute it's going and there is nothing left behind and I'm using the cheapest Walmart unscented litter. And it hardly uses any. And what's interesting is I do have that litter in a manual box for the cat that I just bought a new one of these for and I used it for about a week and it doesn't scoop very well if you shake the rake it falls apart and yet I have none of that problem in this litter box cuz it's so efficient stuff doesn't get thrown around it's fantastic I can't say enough things I highly recommend this box and I'm going to be buying probably two more over the next 6 months as I can save up for them. And what a deal you know one I paid $299 for and this latest one I paid $319 so not a bad deal. And I'm careful to make sure it's the same box because there's another one that looks similar to it but I don't think it has the UV cleaning option and I really believed it first it was hooey, but now after there is no smell I believe it does something it kills all the bacteria in there I mean even the the bag of litter to throw out doesn't stink I've never never experienced anything like it. ... show more
