this product and the cowash caught my eye in a grocery store because of its really nice packaging. i decided to buy it for my boyfriend because he has had really bad dandruff for most of his life and everything he's tried has not worked! even prescription didn't work for him! but i bought him this because of the reviews i was seeing about how great this stuff works. instantly his dandruff is gone. he can go days without using this and the dandruff has not made an appearance once! i am amazed with how well it works that we bought tons of the 16 oz cowash tubs as at the time it was more cost effective as I had found it on a great sale at a salon retailer. A lot of reviews mention the smell. I don't think it smells all that bad but it doesn't smell like other shampoos that are intentionally scented for smelling good. I see this as more of a medicinal product. I have a very dry scalp and it gets flaky really easy but this product knocks it out. It usually takes two uses in two days for my scalp to feel normal. I have very little hair so I can't say how it feels after washing. I imagine if you have longer hair it may feel a bit strange after. ... show more

My scalp was inexplicably dry and flaky to the point of me checking every hour or so to make sure it wasn’t noticeable. After 1 use I noticed a slight change, washed with regular shampoo 2 days later and then used this product again 2 days after that. I have seen maybe 1 flake after that and it’s only gotten better. Excellent dandruff shampoo. I haven’t had braids in 12 years because in one week, it’s flake central. So, I wash my hair once a week. I used this on 4/30/2020, I saw my 1st flake yesterday, 5/18/2020. Shockeddd and happy. Definitely my new go to. Shampoo - 10/10 Conditioner - I’ll use on my roots only, this conditioner doesn’t feel good at all but the system works. So I shampooed like norm. As a black woman it’s hard to find a product for scalp conditions that isn’t extremely stripping and damaging. Now this does get in there so I never skip conditioning and putting in a leave in conditioner, but this is the only shampoo that gets my scalp clean and keeps it clean and reaction free through a hairstyle. I have tried many different dandruff and psoriasis specialized shampoo. All types of oils from tea tree, castor, coconut, lavender and nothing worked for my scalp for years. I started using the cowash last year and loved it. I figured the shampoo must be just as good and it is, I am hooked it’s cured my dandruff. It leaves my hair clean and not dry. I absolutely love this stuff. Smell is a little strong when using, but I can't really smell it at all when I'm out the shower. I have spent years looking for something to help my scalp , I have curly hair so it's harder for my scalp to stay moisturized, you're not supposed to wash your curly hair everyday. I have used this 3 times and I can tell the difference. My scalp doesn't get itchy like it was and it leaves my scalp feeling so nice and clean.
