I like this water dispenser. Comments made in reviews have easy remedies! Do not tighten the lid as it creates a vacuum and the water doesn't flow. Leave it loose. Any water dispenser will have this vacuum issue. Drilling a hole in the top cover is not necessary and is unsanitary. The container itself is thin compared to water bottle delivery companies. The price is right. I fill with drinking water refilled at water dispensers with my reuseable gallon jugs and then fill this unit. It never leaves my counter top. No issue with breakage. If you do take it to a water dispenser to fill, it will break as it is really not for this purpose. The spigot did drip slightly when I first filled it, as I was watching for this. Plumbers use plumbers tape for this reason. It is not a design flaw! I liked mine so much, I ordered another for my bathroom to dispense drinking water, too. I bought 8 of the various Arrow models to use in home gardening as water reservoirs for Blumat clay autowatering stakes. Added food coloring so I can see the water level and it really looks attractive. Holds a lot of water so don't have to refill often. Should be easy to clean. All are working well so far. 2.5 gallons of water is very heavy (handle helps) and would really would take up a lot of space in the fridge. I did test out the spigot and it works well, doesn't leak. So if I throw a party or have guests staying with me, I could wash one out and use as a drinks container. Now we'll see how long they last in the Florida sun. ... show more

We bought this 3 years ago, still works great. The secret is to use some common sense. When you use the dispenser, don’t forget to unscrew the cap to let air in or it will cause suction within, causing cracks or damage. The design is similarly to laundry detergent dispensers. While this container has a wide opening and a good overall shape and capacity, the spigot leaks. I’m not an engineer, but there are some notches cut into the neck of the spigot where the threads are. I’m pretty sure this is what allows the liquid to leak out. Fortunately the spigot from my old dispenser fit the new one. So, unless you have a spare spigot laying around, do not buy this container. ... show more

So sorry these didn’t work out. First the order arrived missing a spigot. Company mailed a replacement promptly. So good on them! Then I realized that the design is flawed by not having a vent to release air as the water flows out. This of course causes a vacuum and you’ll need to remove the cap from time to time to allow more air in so the water will keep flowing. OK, so workable. But then it leaks ever so slightly from the screw on spout. Harumph. Plumbers tape solved this problem, but seriously? How many work a rounds do I need for a simple water jug? Still I pressed on … until yesterday, probably my third trip to the grocery to fill them, one cracked on my way home from the store, spilling water everywhere. Done, done, done. Too fragile, poorly designed. Got a refund via Amazon so that’s all good but now I’m back to my quest to find reusable water dispensers that I can both lift and clean. I bought two of these a couple of years back. I had no problems until about a few months ago one of them started to leak sporadically. By this I mean when you used it there was no problem but every once in a while the one bad one would just open on it's own and release enough water to flood the kitchen floor. I tried to see if I could fix it but that is impossible since it is a sealed spigot. I searched everywhere but I couldn't find a replacement so I had to dispose it. It's a shame because the jug itself is well made but totally unusable. So far the remaining one has been behaving itself. ... show more
