Description

This package is not a complete mount solution and includes only the Aluminum Seat Rail or Floor Mounting Pedestal featuring a 4-Hole AMPS Head and 22-inch Flexible Gooseneck. (Holders sold separately.) Arkon’s GN088-SBH-AMPS-L22 car or truck seat rail or floor mounting pedestal can be used as a replacement, upgrade, or as an addition to an existing pedestal. It is compatible with devices having a 4-Hole AMPS pattern, including vehicle-specific mounts (VSMs), cameras, GPS devices, audio/video receivers, or satellite radios including Sirius S50, Sirius XM Onyx Plus, XM Onyx EZ, Sirius XM Lynx, Stratus 7, Dock & Play, and Sirius Dock & Play (sold separately). This mounting pedestal is also ideal for mobile radio holders, housings, and other devices used by public safety, construction, and utility applications. Formerly an industry standard, the 4-Hole AMPS pattern consists of four holes located in a rectangular pattern spaced at 30.17mm by 38.05mm (measured as the center-to- center distance between holes). The car seat rail or floor mount is made of strong yet flexible aluminum, and is ideal for service vehicles, trucks, or those who need easy access to their devices but prefer mounting them somewhere other than the windshield or dashboard. Use a socket wrench to install the mount to the car’s seat rail. Loosen the passenger seat track bolt, insert the included seat track bolt bracket, and then retighten the bolt. Bend the 22” gooseneck and rotate the swivel ball adapter head for 360-degree rotation for exact positioning of the device. Optional floor brackets are included for screwing the mount directly into the floor of the vehicle. (Warning: Drilling into the vehicle’s floor may damage the vehicle. Use caution and consult a mobile install professional to avoid drilling into any sensitive vehicle components.)

  • The only phone mount that has ever worked for me
Style: Portable Electronic Device Mount Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
It's not like I'm doing off-road driving or have especially pothole-ridden road to drive on. I've tried every other phone mount product out there. Suction cups on the windshield, vent mounts, cup holder hogs, glue mounts on the dashboard, etc. On a long road trip, when you're counting on having your phone there to communicate and stay on the route, you can't be having the thing fall off the mount... or have the whole mount fall down and slide around. I've been using this product for almost 2 years now and my phone stays where I want it... even when I am on bumpy ground. Fairly easy to install, I attached it to the front left passenger seat footer in my SUV. My phone stays where I want it to. I had the iPhone 10, and recently upgraded to the 13, so I glued one of those mag-safe mounts on there. Works great! ... show more

  • Don't like suction cup or vent hanging mounts? This mount may be for you.
Style: Portable Electronic Device Mount Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I love this mount! I looked at and considered what seems like every mount ever made before I chose this one. I use it for a Sirius Onyx plus satellite receiver. Being that it was for a Sirius receiver I didn't want or need it to sit up high on the dash. I couldn't bring myself to use a suction mount or any kind of bracket that I'd have to disassemble my dash for, or worse yet, drill into. So I chose this adjustable arm seat rail mount and I couldn't be happier. Install was a breeze and if I ever sell the car taking it back out will be as simple as a minutes work and a socket wrench and my car won't be any worse for wear. One thing to consider since Arkon also offers an 18" version as well, do the front bolts on your seat rails face straight up towards the bottom of the seat or outward towards the front of the car? If they face out (like my car) you may want to opt for the longer arm as you will probably use several inches of the arm getting out from under the seat before bending up to wherever you want the mounted product to be. The AMPS 4 hole pattern means many satellite radios will attach right to the mount without having to use any kind of secondary attachment to make the adjustment. As noted in a previous review, I too had to shave two of the corners down just a bit so that the power and antenna cords could get to their receptacles on the back of my receiver. This however was easy to do and you're not sacrificing the strength of the mount by doing so. This is the second Akron mount I've purchased recently and I am very happy with both. Will easily shop Arkon products in the future, ... show more

  • Easy to install, all around nice product
Style: Portable Electronic Device Mount Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Worked great for my Prius Prime. The gooseneck seems very stiff which allows you to bend it into position, but not have your radio wobble all over the place. I almost gave it 4 stars because I did need to modify the 4 amps bracket to fit a Sirius Onyx. To get the antenna and power cord to plug in, you will need to cut off two of the corners on the bracket. I didn't take a star away because I liked the rest of the product quite a bit, and because it isn't like anyone will ever see the bracket anyway, so it was 30s to customize a universal product. Seemed reasonable ... show more

  • very stff
Style: Portable Electronic Device Mount Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Spent about an hour trying to install this, but failed to get it done. If it was more flexible, then would have had success. But the stiffness, and the lack of flexibility made it impossible to use in my vehicle. It will probably work well for others, but in my vehicle, it just needed to bend around corners more easily. ... show more

  • Something that work at last.
Style: Portable Electronic Device Mount Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I have a mobile radio that i needed to put in my car and be able to remove it when i need. This stand is great. Strong and versatile. It is permanent now and sturdy. I was using industrial Velcro before to hold the radio in place but this didn't work well at all, radio held for a while then fell off while driving, radio has some weight to it. I recommend this stand. ... show more

  • Not as robust as a Ram Mount gooseneck
Style: Portable Electronic Device Mount Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I purchased this due to needing 3" - 4" more length than my current Ram Mount 18" gooseneck. However, in use this Akron gooseneck is only 2" longer installed (20" height) than the Ram Mount as the OEMs must measure from different places on the assemblies. The Ram Mount also has a larger diameter goosneck bar assembly for more support, along with much more robust and usable mounting hardware. The ball joint at the top of the Akron gooseneck used for attaching the mounting face, in my case the amps pattern, is ~ 7/8" in diameter instead of the more standard 1" diameter used by the Ram Mount. However, I was able to take the far superior Ram Mount amps patterned short arm ball assembly and mount it on the Akron for attachment of the device mounts as it will tighten down well over the Akron ball mount, which now makes the Akron a good mount. The only type of seat bolt mount included is one bent at a 90 degree angle, which is okay for seat bolts mounted vertically but will not work for seat bolts mounted horizontally, like on my Ram truck, without bending the gooseneck 90 degrees and losing several inches of height or bending the angled mount straight in a vise to make it work. In all regards, the Ram Mount is superior in materials and construction compared to the Akron mount. However, if one needs a gooseneck longer than 18", Ram Mount does not make it and the Akron will make due for a subset of devices the Ram Mount would support with its greater weight carrying capacity. ... show more

  • Great arm mount for 05 suburban
Style: Portable Electronic Device Mount Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I used this to mount a wireless phone charger. The blank pad was perfect to anchor to the wireless charger. I hate suction cups and vent mounts. I really wish arkon would make more parts to expand upon their existing lineup. Ive been very pleased with all of their products so far.
