Review for the Aqua Joe AJ-OSPR20 20-Nozzle Max Coverage Adjustable Gear Driven Oscillating Sprinkler on Sled Base. I was hopeful that this would be advantageous since we don’t have an automatic sprinkler system and live in so Cal. (Yes, some people still water their lawns.) The adjustments work great, from narrow to a wide spread, large and small sections— and it works well regardless of the water pressure. However, the attachment from the base to the part that connects to the hose is very loose. Not the hose connection. So loosing a lot of water at and onto the base. Too late for a return. Since water efficiency is key, I’ll be switching back to traditional fan spray Aqua-Joe sprinkler. I could use some waterproof glue on it but would prob have to reapply often as it is opposite the hose connection. ... show more

So I decided to purchase the sprinklers against my better judgment and some other reviews. Upon arrival, the sprinklers appeared to be just fine inside the box. Assembly was easy and straightforward, screw the sprinkler head onto the base of the sprinkler. Unfortunately, the simplicity ends there. If the sprinkler actually function as properly I guess I wouldn’t have many complaints. To make this review short and sweet into the point because I don’t believe bad news needs details. Bad is bad. As others have stated the part that screws onto the water hose itself for some reason easily separates from the sprinkler and its base. I cannot tell you how frustrating and annoying it is to see something that malfunctions so easily because you know for a fact that the manufacture is blatantly allowing a quality control issue to occur. To those who had a good review, I’m happy for them. But are those with the bad reviews who keep reiterating what I just stated, I understand your pain. This is literally one of those items that you have to buy at your own discretion. Secondly the water does not cover the amount of yardage it claims or square feet . Overall I am completely disappointed and I would advise anyone to shop other places. I gave it a shot this entire afternoon and came to the conclusion that nothing should require a workaround when it’s designed correctly. ... show more

    • All plastic back and forth adjustable sprinkler.
I do not like that the connection to the hose is plastic. It leaks even when I use two hose washers. Nothing I do stops it from leaking. I have used 3 different hoses and it still leaks, more so when I adjust the flow to minus. Otherwise, I like the adjustability of the sprinkler. Just wish it were better made. ... show more

Simple but effective. Works with high or low water pressure in a way that I could soak a small 5x3 area or a large 40x30 area or any size in between. The only minor issue I have is the hose to sprinkler connection leaks. I'm hoping a thick soft rubber hose washer (when I find some) will seal the deal better that the thin plastic washer that comes with the sprinkler solves this issue. ... show more

    • Breaks if you breathe on it
I want to like this sprinkler. It is highly customizable. I can narrow one side or both or neither and control how far it rotated with the flick of a few switches. It has a far reach and broad pattern. It's simple enough that the sprinkler itself works well. However, and this is a tremendous issue, the hose connector breaks if you breath on it. It disconnects when you're nowhere near it and floods your lawn. It partially snaps off and shoots a spike of water across the area or sprays uncontrollably until it fully comes apart. I can't even fully connect the sprinkler to the hose in one go. I have to unscrew the connector from the hose, snap it back on the sprinkler, attempt to re-screw it onto the hose, then start all over again when it inevitably breaks. Yesterday, it took my 15 tries to get it to finally be able to water the lawn and then it flew off the sprinkler on its own about 5minutes layer anyway. It is super frustrating. This Oscillating Sprinkler has an over all good design. It has great coverage, adjustability and etc. However, there is a major flaw with the plastic 3/4'' connection to garden hose. That flaw being that it is leaks terribly and easily blows off. A little tug by hand or even a little bit of water pressure and that plastic circular end will disconnect. You can see numerous reviews on here that complain about it. I was ready to throw the thing in the trash tbh. What I ended up doing is removing the plastic piece end (that blows off) and installing a 5/8" Barb x 3/4" Female GHT Thread Brass Garden Hose Pipe Fitting into the plastic port. I would have preferred matching plastic to plastic but ended up using brass and wrapping the brass barbed end in some Teflon tape. I then tapped it in with a hammer and piece of wood (to not damage the brace face), got about 2-3 of the barbed edges into the plastic and tested it out. It no longer leaks or blows off and works great now. Glad I fixed it because it's a decent Oscillating Sprinkler. ... show more
