Had problem because dvr came with a password already on it and I couldn’t access anything contact Annke support and they replaced dvr then a cable didn’t work so the sending new cable. This is by far the best customer support of any company I’ve dealt with through Amazon.

So I got the 8MP camera system and installed it with no issues. Setup was confusing, and after almost two weeks have still not been able to get the network working. ANNKE has no help number- it’s all via email. After emailing back and forth for over a week, I’ve basically gotten the same link to the same generic fix- that doesn’t work. A telephone support line would be extremely helpful...maybe. So far I can monitor the system by tv and phone but only within Wi-Fi range. When I get outside Wi-Fi range I have no live picture, alerts, or email notifications. Then today, one of my cameras has RGB line down the picture. *Incase you are questioning my competence in installing, I’ve built PC’s for over 20 years and half networked same. I also had a neighbor come over that installed a much more expensive security camera system and he couldn’t figure it out either. *Finally support gave me a contact time, and had me install a remote viewer on my computer from China- was not to thrilled about this. After watching them closely, and working with them it all boiled down to a gmail setting. The cameras work as advertises now. I can pull them up on my phone any time, anywhere, and get email alerts when sensors are tripped. Despite setting sensitivity to lowest settings, I still get quite a few false positives. By far the plus to this system is the picture. I can also zoom in on images using the phone app. Despite the issues, you’d be hard pressed to get this picture quality for under a couple grand- so it’s worth the headache and price. ... show more

    • Stop Scum Bags
I have been strong arm robbed twice last year ;the last robbery was Halloween Night by five assailants . this set up of cameras and recorder helped me to identify the scum (high school seniors nad one of mysons former friends that were robbing me and beating me physically. I am still on a learning curve concerning the security system operation( I never saved the videos of my assailants and the ysyem deleted after 100 days) and Ijust now turned in my warranty information The cameras were offline and I solved it temporarily . I will contact Annke if I have any more questions ;And I do have questions concerning push notifications when away from home concerning motion or movement by possible SCUM BAGS. I only gave 4 stars due to not recieving push notifications like I thought I should ... show more

    • Good cost effective system
I bought and installed this system about 9 months ago; I wanted to have it a while before reviewing. I had my first problem a week ago when the camera feed went black for all cameras (6). I contacted tech support via email and they got right back to me, got some information, and suggested I replace the power supply for the cameras. I had an extra power supply because I purchased the 4 camera expansion set as well. It worked! Even though the cameras were getting power from the old power supply, once I swapped them everything was fine. The picture quality for these cameras is superb. The technical documentation is poorly written and hard to understand, but not really needed; the installation wizard guides you through without problem.     • Picture seems good, but seems to require a cloud access to work on my iPad
The "night vision" is good, and the field of view is large. Picture quality is very good. However the app seems to require a cloud account, have tried for a week to get a way to view the cameras on my local net, but can’t seem to get it working. Seems to want to connect outside of my network to work , would not purchase this product again. Probably just will get a long HDMI cable to a monitor in my office. ... show more

cameras are plastic as i already have a system i was looking to upgrade to a better quality system for a starter this would be a good system the plastic cameras will not hold up to the desert heat even the metal have a short lifespan the price was good did a startup to check system easy to set up was just looking to upgrade my old system ... show more

The 15 FPS is not True AT ALL with this DVR. The Cameras are 4K at 8 FPS. Which means that you will not be able to see anything but a huge blur if someone approaches your door swiftly. But it will be a huge blur in 4K!!!!! Do not buy. I attached a picture of my old camera Vs the new ones. The old ones are 4MP the new one is 8MP. The old one is 15 FPS the new one is 8 FPS. See for yourself. The first is the 4MP 15FPS the second is the 4K 8 FPS. When a car drives by you can only see a couple photos of the Annke camera and DVR. I honesty regret buying this. ... show more

    • Impressive - not my first security camera system
This is my third security camera system since 2001. It was the best and easiest set up of all of them from a DVR setup standpoint. While I didn’t need to replace my cables, this was by far the fastest replacement I have done. It worked with my old cameras, but slowly I replaced with the included cameras and they made a big difference in the quality. What I was most impressed about is the ability to connect to a mobile device with just a scan of your QR code. Bang! It worked. ... show more
