These are well made plates that handle being used in a microwave or dishwasher with no problems. Keep in mind that the sizes are irregular, meaning that the plates are not perfectly round, but could be slightly oval or elongated. This adds to the rustic charm as all of the plates are roughly 10.5" in diameter - just don't expect perfectly round plates. They arrive so quickly. Bought 4 8.5" plates to see if I liked them before ordering a full set. They arrived packed , boxed and boxed again so very securely. The ocean blue is very subtle in color.
