I have about 450 pounds of AMGYM bumpers, much better value than name brands. Haven’t tested the accuracy of each plate, but my lifts feel about the same as when using rogue plates that I have at work. They come kind of randomly when ordering but have always showed up.

    • Shipping is Confusing, but Plate Seems Great

As other reviews have mentioned, the shipping on these is unnecessarily confusing. Of course it makes sense if you buy 260 lbs of weights that it will not come in single box, but the way the flow went for us we paid $500 and then got a single, 45 lb plate in the mail. Okay. We checked on Amazon and it said, "Package delivered" and there was only one tracking number. I don't know why Amazon can't handle partial shipments. Discomfort rising. Anyway, the single plate looks pretty great. It was a little greasy, but a quick paper towel wipe down and it was fine and it didn't smell to speak of. We bounced it off of our rubber flooring and it seems like it should work great, but of course we can't so anything with just a single plate. So I contact the seller about our missing 215 lbs and don't hear back. Now I'm getting nervous it's a scam. Negative thoughts and feeling about Amazon ensue. Contact the seller again, finally hear back. They advise that two more deliveries are on their way and providing the tracking numbers, supposed to come in tomorrow. Okay, so finally I'm a bit more relaxed, but honestly don't know why this process has to be so frustrating. Why can't Amazon just list multiple tracking numbers or the vendor somehow send an automated message, "More packages are coming!" Will update if we don't get our whole order... ... show more

    • Great plates for a reasonable price

I needed bumper plates for the various exercises I like to do with a barbell. I don't have the right type of flooring to drop steel plates, as this would damage my floor. I decided on these plates for my training. They do exactly as intended and the price was decent.

    • That smell... open with care

The weights are great - look nice, rubber is coated evenly without imperfections, the centers are properly sized... But man, the smell is AWFUL. I have walked through plastic manufacturing facilities of all kinds and none smell half as bad as this. Take my advice - open these outside and wash them. Clorox disinfectant wipes did the trick for me. Only then bring them into your home. I opened them in my home and the stench permeated the basement literally for 3 days. After cleaning the weights and ventilating the basement, the curse has been lifted and I'm happy with my new weight set. A fine product but open with care! I'd recommend to the manufacturer that they take a look at their finishing process because it would really improve the customer experience. People are generally excited to open their packages, but that first whiff of this poison gas is probably causing a ton of these to be returned unnecessarily. ... show more

We bought this set for our home gym and it’s been great. Pieces come well protected with a bit of a rubbery smell that quickly went away. They are easy to handle when changing out on our bar.

These are great bumper plates for the price. Time will tell how they last but they seem sturdy enough so far. Yeah there is some rubber smell, but it fades away pretty quickly. Be warned, the weights ship in a few shipments with different tracking numbers. I was concerned when Amazon showed that the delivery was complete but only half the weights were delivered. I contacted the seller and they immediately provided the second tracking number. The rest of the weights showed up a day later. All the boxes were intact and weights in plastic bags inside the boxes. ... show more
