So yeh, it sure is waterproof. I bought these for use on couch and dog bed (I bought two) for times when my creek loving labs come in with swamp dampened fur. I never seem to get them fully dried off, so them having a towel or easy to clean blanket helps mop up the rest of their wetness. Been using it like so for few weeks now, washed them a couple of times. Feels dense but soft. How I found out that they are REALLY waterproof is that once in awhile one of my cats will decide to PEE on the couch or dog bed. I tossed this on their dog bed, which is sort of loose looking (as opposed to couch where it seems to stay straightened out), and I noticed that it was holding pee. The pee had not soaked into the material. SO I carefully picked it up and poured off the pee. In hindsight, I should have tossed a towel on it to soak up the pee instead of trying to walk through the house with a puddle of pee. It is waterproof. That's great. If using it to keep liquids from a place that can easily be washed, then this will do it. However, I would top it with something that can soak up the liquid. So for me, I will put this on the couch cushion then top it with a big towel or small easy to wash blanket. Then pee (or whatever) will hit that first, soak up, and THIS cover will keep the pee (or other liquid) from seeping down to cushion, mattress, etc. It's durable feeling material, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for providing extra protection from nails, claws, wear and tear and such, as well as the waterproof aspect. One of the pictures from a review shows what I experienced: the liquid sits on top. So yeh, it is waterproof. I realized I ordered the quilted one and it gets like those fuzzy things not lint but after a few washes and my skin gets very irritated by them. And not really water proof surface pee/water yes. My son actually pooped on it, he's ebf baby and it's watery well due to it also being quilted it got in the creases I sprayed with kids and pets spray (amazing best cleaner ever only $5 and better than $30 ones) anyways I sprayed it down and began to wipe off then as I was pushing down my husband lifted the sheet to take it off and the poop color had leaked through....maybe I sprayed to much spray or maybe I pushed down to much either way didn't hold up after a wash....also my husband and I used it for us to be intimate, and doesn't hold up with that either.....leaks through. I ordered this same brand just in a different version hospital works if not going to have to return to get a whole new brand all together... ... show more

This product is fantastic. I could not find a dog cover/ blanket that prevented DOG HAIR from getting into the fibers of the cover. This product is amazing. I have 5 (Yes 5) dogs that all shed. I was constantly throwing out blankets or covers because I could not get the dog hair out of the fibers and it would REEK of dog odor! Gross! I was just throwing away the covers and blankets monthly. Hair DOES NOT get stuck on the cover or in the fibers!! . It’s amazing! Water proof as well. I have 5 covers for dog beds and one large cover for the couch. We have a fearful scaredy-cat cat that for some bizarre reason will pee on either my bed, or the dog's bed, 2-3 times a year. Hard to address as the behavior is seemingly random and infrequent. While that may not seem very often, it is a ton of work and is usually discovered at bedtime. Gross, and not-fun. Last year, I bought a coverlet sized one of these for my bed, which worked well and looked like regular bedding. I decided to order a larger one so I could make the bed up with the pillows also covered - giving a more polished look and leaving them protected as well. This blanket is definetly leak proof. I use it for sexy time and well nothing leaks. My only concern is that the water puddles up and sits on top of the blanket so if you move or the blanket moves your soaked and the water falls off the blanket onto the bed or ground.
