This processor is truly amazing the installation on this was as simple as making a sandwich. The speed of the processor is amazing too and when you combine it with gaming it takes your gaming to a whole new level. So far the durability on this processor is amazing haven’t had any problems with it whatsoever. This fits nicely with my motherboard and gave me no problems. 7950x3d. In my Gaming / Streaming PC, smashes anything I throw at it. Right now, I am gaming at 1440p, high refresh rates, 150+, maxed out graphics, stream at 1080p/60fps and this CPU barely reaches like 25-35% load OCCASIONALLY. Going to be upgrading and running this system at 4K at some point in the near future, and I am sure gaming, streaming, recording and video editing at 4K will finally make this thing sweat but for right now, this CPU is WAYYY more powerful than what I'm throwing at it. But I like that. I like not having fps stutters and spikes anymore. I had a FX-8350 for 10 years and finally upgraded to 7950x3d in 2024. That FX processor finally started feeling slow around 2020 when cyberpunk came out. TLDR: Awesome CPU that will smash anything in 2k and 4k you throw at it. The i9 14700 was to run at approx 65W but in reality it was cranking at 0ver 325W and overheating the heck out of my system even with super largest cooler my case would fit. This is apparently a design flaw with 13th/14th Gen intel chips. That said, I went with an all AMD setup and this Ryzen chip just kicks ass! Super fast and runs great even under extreme graphic loads! I highly recommend it! ... show more

    • Makes Blender render faster
If you're building a brand new system and the motherboard blames the CPU - don't you believe it. Your CPU is probably fine. I bought the 7950X3d for content creation. Not sure if this speeds up the process of compiling shaders in Unreal Editor or Blender. But it does help Blender render frames faster. I upgraded from an i5-9600K which means going from 6 threads to 32. At last I can justify rendering videos in Cycles versus EEVEE. This 7950X3d pairs nicely with my RTX4070 which is finally on a board that supports PCIE4. While Unreal Editor still takes 5 minutes to load and another 5 to open a project - it does seem to run my simulations a lot smoother. Can't wait to see how it does with DaVinci Resolve Studio. I wouldn't even know that Ryzen exists if it weren't for the fact that Unreal Editor "wants" at least 12 cores and (at the time) Intel kept insisting that what i really "want" is E-cores. I think the "E" is for "e-maginary". So when I noticed the 7950X3d had 16 guaranteed cores with a possibility of 32 threads - I sensed an opportunity to speed up Unreal Editor. And then when I learned about the sensible power consumption and reduced heat emissions plus the fact that you don't have to use an AIO - I was convinced. ... show more

Make sure you download the correct CPU chipset drivers DIRECTLY from the AMD website. It is a beast of a CPU. It does get a bit toasty but get a good CPU cooler and you will be fine.
