My cats are spoiled and get a treat every morning. We went on a trip for a few days recently and wanted to continue giving them their treat once daily. We purchased two of these so each cat would have their own. This is a super straightforward and easy product to use. It works on a timer from 00:01 up to 23:59. It doesn't have a cooler-like feature as some other auto feeders do, so dry food/treats is preferred in my opinion. My only negative (yet could be positive) feedback is that it's too quiet! It's nearly silent so my cats didn't always hear it go off! Our male cat is food obsessed so he would just continuously check it for treats whereas our female cat would only see her treat if she was actively looking at it. So, needless to say, our male cat got two treats everyday while we were away. I would still definitely recommend this product as it's fairly priced and of high quality. ... show more

I bought this for feeding canned food to my cat so that I would be "taken out of the equation" in terms of feeding (ie every time I go into the kitchen he accosts me for food). First, this Amazon feeder was easy to program - basically you are simply choosing the number of minutes between feedings - there are no other things to set. Second, it is easy enough to get the lid off for cleaning or to refill the food compartments - I don't think that my cat would have figured out how to open it but some very food motivated pets might be able to swing it. I think this would just be trial and error for your individual pet. My biggest beef with the feeder (and this would likely be a plus for some people) was that it was TOO quiet. I was sitting 10' away from it the first time we used it and I couldn't even hear it rotate/open. This means that my cat wouldn't have been able to hear it either and I need him to get to the food before my dog does. The Qpets automated feeder has a feature where you can record your voice or another sound to play whenever a new compartment opens up and I wished that the Amazon feeder had this. My cat also had a difficult time getting the food (canned or dry) out of the deep wells. I think I could have lived with this and he would likely have figured out how to more efficiently get the food out if not for the other issue I had with it. Overall though, I think that this is a good feeder for the money and depending on your household it may work just fine for you. Just wasn't right for us. ... show more

I got these for my cats when I take an overnight trip and don't want them to gorge themselves on a day's worth of food immediately. I like that these are very easy to assemble, open, clean, and add food. My cats have no problem with getting all the dry food out of the wells. That said, this is also a problem, because every time I leave, I come home to the lids off. I have no idea if this product is broken or if my cats are just too smart and figured out how to get the lid off.... My other (minor) frustration with this product is the timer. Yes, it works great, but I would prefer to be able to set times of the day (8am, 1pm, 4pm, 8pm, etc) rather than it will rotate every x number of hours. In short, I think it works. I can work around the small issue I have with it, and it's sturdy enough to handle my cats' energetic abuse to get all the food at once. ... show more

I got this feeder in May to use when I leave my cat home alone for 2-3 days. It worked great and will fit around 6oz of wet cat food in each feeding section. This most recent time I left my cat home, however, the timer continued to be countdown but the door did not spin after the countdown reached zero. My cat was left without food for a whole day. Incredibly worrisome. I went ahead about purchase another cat feeder that spun the bottom tray instead of the lid. Hopefully that will work better. ... show more

Only used a short time and it’s done job. My wish would be to have clock for easier scheduling. Having to set schedule at exact time it’s working can be frustrating. It really really needs a voice recording or sound to announce it’s time to eat. It is Silent. My cat doesn’t even know it has moved.

    • Worked great until it didn't - only lasted a month or two

Well I loved this - the color is super cute (I got the mint), and it's a basic form of a great concept. The timer was easy to set and it being battery powered was nice so I didn't need to consider outlet placement. I used it when I went away for two days for my cat and all of the chambers that were full were empty when I returned. I considered this a success and was looking forward to using it again. So when another trip came, about a month or two later, I set up the feeder and went on my way. Thankfully this was only one overnight because despite taking the batteries out and putting them back in before this use, somehow it died and did not rotate for my cat to access the next feeding. I then tried new batteries and using it when I was home to see what was up, but the timer kept shutting off or just not working. So I'm not sure what happened, but I will not be purchasing this specific model again. Also, this might just be me, but the scheduling was interesting. This feeder has you establish at what interval you want the next food well to be opened. This went from one minute to 24 hours. This was really easy to set up and program. However, it was weird when I had to figure out the timing when one meal was only 6 hours away but the one after that was 16 hours away. The set interval would be difficult for people looking to feed more than one meal at exact times. Thankfully my girl wasn't picky at the time so relatively close to feeding time was fine. So...I guess the TL;DR: Pros: Easy to set up, cute, got the job done (once), easy to clean, price compared to other feeders was great Cons: Didn't work even with new batteries after one use, timer rather than specific times, large footprint because it's a big circle. ... show more
