The distressed-wood border on this frame is quite attractive, looks indeed like distressed wood. Picture quality in the display is good. Delivery was fast, the frame was very well packaged. I would certainly recommend this product. The instructions that come with the frame are too sketchy to cover more than basic-startup concerns and issues. But the online instructions are very thorough and very helpful. I got good advice there about reducing the size of my images before loading them onto my flash drive. (You can also use a SD/SDHC/SDXC card, if you prefer. In any case, you need either the card or the flash drive to remain in the frame in order to provide the photos for the display.) In my case, this will be a flash drive totally dedicated to the frame (pop it out, load more photos from the PC, pop it back in). My model does not have the touch-screen option, so no comments here on that feature. I’m displaying landscape photos (in a home office), so anything shot in portrait mode gets badly distorted. The frame can also be placed (sits on a desk or can hang on a wall) to display portrait without distortion, if that’s your preference instead of landscape. The quality of the display is quite good, capturing the colors pretty much as they appear in the originals. If you look at the display at too much of an angle, the image fades a good bit. But the display angle for full colors is pretty wide. It’s a good display frame for photos, and you really can’t beat this price. ... show more

I was looking for a digital picture frame as a gift for a senior. Wanted the "traditional" 4:3 aspect ratio, no touchscreen, no Wifi, simple to set up and use, and with a wood frame. This was one of very few frames I could find that fit the bill, and I was leery about buying it after reading some of the less than stellar reviews. But for the price I thought I would give it a try. The frame arrived packaged well and in excellent condition. No instructions needed, as the on-screen instructions are self-explanatory with intuitive navigation. It has all the cropping and image quality settings necessary to make your photos look their best whatever their size. And a wide selection of creative transition effects for slideshow mode. It also has time and date and an auto on/off timer, which is not advertised. I had no problem configuring photo stores on either a USB flash drive or SD card. Some photos that were very large or saved in a strange format did not display properly, but reducing their size and/or resaving in JPG solved those problems. This photo frame works well. Simple and easy to use with only a few buttons. However, the pictures do not fill the whole screen so they are even smaller and harder to see if not oriented in the correct way (landscape). Tried fit to screen and it distorted my photos. Overall works good, no issues.

Bought the digital photo frame as a gift for my mom and she loved it! Was very easy to set up and looks great! We bought a 16GB flash drive to load photos on and had no problems using it.

While the display on this Frame is great, the "auto on" function DOES NOT WORK. This is a replacement Frame for the first one we purchased. In both cases, the "auto on" function does not work. The "auto off" function consistently turned the Frame off at the assigned time. The "auto on" function sometimes turned the Frame on at the assigned time BUT generally turns the Frame on at any time during the night. No rhyme or reason but always during the early hours and always long before the assigned "auto on" time. If you plan on using the Auto On function - DO NOT BUY THIS FRAME. ... show more

I have used the Aluratek 8” Digital Photo Frame for months now. I loaded an SD card with many pictures and have it on my counter.I added pictures a few times to the SD card. It has run 24 x 7 for months with minimal issues. Once it froze up and one other time it started showing the pictures out of frame. A reboot cleared the issues. Very easy setup as a digital picture frame rotating through a few 100 family pictures. After a few months the backlight stopped working right. It looks like there might be 5 lights on the bottom of the lcd screen to illuminate the displayed picture. Only the 2nd from the left is still working. The other 4 are completely off. Image still looks good, but can only see 1/5 of it without shining a flashlight at it. Probably bad manufacturing, early failures are bound to happen. Mind sat in a box so long before actually using it that I've missed my exchange window. Hope you have better luck. ... show more

This digital picture frame is great for displaying multiple photos in limited space. I have it on my desk at work, and love seeing it scroll through all of my pictures. It's a nice mood booster for me (seeing pictures of my dogs and my adventures makes me happy), and it's a nice conversation piece. I like the darker frame for the space, and had to drill holes in that outer frame to attach it, but that was easy. The picture quality is nice, both image quality and color. The frame seems to really like one particular picture and keeps displaying it a little too often; my coworkers and I get a good laugh out because it's a picture of me and we joke that I could have just gotten a mirror. Maybe I need to switch it from random to sequential, delete that pic, or leave it for the laughs. I chose this frame because didn't want one with WiFi at work. ... show more
