    • This is the best frame to use as a present. Great little display!

We wanted to stay in touch with family who lived many states away by sharing photos with them. However, we found it kind of cumbersome to use social media, as well as having to know those images were uploaded to those platforms. This frame and app allows us to share and loved ones to view photos, within the home and not have to search for it while on the computer or their phones. The app allows you to create an account and upload images to a specific frame. You can add photos through the app and can do so from any internet connection. You can also manage photos being displayed, remove ones you may not want on there anymore, and change settings such as timing of photo changes, scheduled on and off times, and order of photo display. It will also show videos with sound if desired. You can also share access to each frame with others. The app will also notify you if others have uploaded photos, and you can view them directly from there, or bring a specific photo up on the frame. The frame also has controls so you can advance or back up the photo from the frame directly. Buying as a gift, the outside packaging provides a QR code you can scan and upload photos to. It allows you to keep from needing to break the shrinkwrap, send it to your loved one, and then automatically download the photos you have designated once they get the frame set up and connected to the internet. I tried to do an ad-hoc setup similar to this with a Samsung Tab years ago, which worked fairly well for a while. However, it used an older Google api which changed and locked out that setup's access. This is such a better and well-made iteration of that setup, and the size of the frame is just right for placement on a countertop, desk, or in the family or living room. Between our families, there are a handful of these frames, and we all love the surprise of seeing new photos pop up on there during the day. I've had digital frames before, but this one is a real gem. The hardware itself is beautiful. The matte screen and image quality are top notch and really don't look like a tablet or monitor. The game changer is the apps to load the photos, mild social aspects of "loving" a photo and simple frame controls. It's natively integrated with the "send to" function of the iPhone; so, you can flip through your photos, select a bunch, then send to the frame without even opening the Aura app. It's rewarding to get a little ping from the app that a photo was "loved" and for me at least, encourages me to add more. I was able to preload hundreds of photos for my wife and customize the start screen with a personal message before even taking it out of the box. Take the time to curate a set of photos and I think you'll love the joy it can bring a loved one. ... show more

Purchased this for myself and have since purchased for gifting. Purchased an Epson 680FF scanner to rapidly scan photo albums and have added over 13,000 photos from scans and electronic files to the Aura frame. The functionality of randomly playing the photos as well as splitting the screen to pair photos is so unique! It is great fun to remember all the joys of travels my spouse and I have had over the decades. The frame I purchased for my mother in-law is shared now by grandchildren and great grandchildren who load photos to the frame from their phones or email photos to the frame. For Mom, this was a gift that dramatically improved connectivity and enjoyment of family distanced from her location. Here is hoping storage is always maintained as unlimited and I dream the company will one day adapt this to an app that can stream as well on the TV. ... show more
