  • This boot helps me sleep all night
Size: Medium
I like this splint for sleeping. It keeps my foot from relaxing into the position in which my calf siezes into a massive cramp. I was waking to those kind of cramps nightly, and this splint has ended that pain. I like how many adjustments l can make for a perfect fit. It is lightweight and sturdy. This boot is NOT A WALKING BOOT. It is designed to keep the back of the leg stretched, so the angle of the ankle makes walking in it difficult. It is possible to hobble to the bathroom, if necessary, but it is not intended to be a walking boot. I like the openness of the design, so on warm nights, I can wear the boot without a sock and be cool. Overall, very good quality for a night splint. ... show more

  • I'm probably getting a second one
Size: Medium
I missed a step and tore ligaments and ruptured a tendon in my right ankle almost 3 years ago. I took 2 months off work and went through almost four months of rehab. I work at a museum and average 12,000-22,000 steps per day, so admittedly, I have not kept up with my stretching or exercises because I just come home and immediately get off my feet. I think this means that there has continued to be inflammation and weakness. At night, my foot relaxes but doesn't have the stability to hold itself upright therefore I end up with 'drop foot' which has lead to tendonitis/tendonosis. (in BOTH feet due to the whole compensating thing.) I realized that when I sleep in my boot, there is much less pain first thing in the morning, but the walking boot is so bulky, Noisy undoing the velcro in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, and I only have the one. I just rec'd this and it's SOOOO sleek, comfortable and cushiony. I will say that I had no idea my ankle was so bad! My heal won't go into the back of the boot...at all! The other foot goes in (just barely) but it feels amazing because it can relax yet it's supported. The quick release straps are great (No VELCRO NOISE when taking it off !! :D ). The wedge (for those who need a deeper angle) is made of very supportive foam and has velcro on it so it stays in place - which is really smart. *I personally, am going to have to start working to get to the point where I use the wedge. At this point, I think I'm going to get a second one for the other foot. ... show more

  • Works good
Size: Large
The boot works good for stretching the muscles and tendons, down side is it's almost impossible for me to get off of my right foot as the clasps aion the outside of your foot ankle and shin. It works great for my left foot and can get on and off the left without help

  • I wish it had worked for me...
Size: Medium
I've been visited by, what I think is, plantar fasciitis. I purchased this sling to try and see if it would help. My heel at that time was super sensitive to pressure. I pulled the sling on that night before bed and laid down. Almost immediately I started getting intense pain in my heal. Within five minutes I had removed the sling. What I found was that the sling had *very little* padding to it, at least in the heel area. The entire backside, including the heel area, of the sling is hard plastic with a thin layer of foam over it. Apparently there simply wasn't enough padding to cushion my heel. I later found a basic sling at a drugstore that was on clearance. The clearance rack sling had an open heel to it which is wonderful. Now, between these two slings I would prefer the Alpha Medical sling for a couple of reasons...IF it had an open heel. The straps on the AM sling seem to better secure the sling to your foot/ankle for one thing. The big thing, though, is that the Alpha Medical sling has the toe strap that goes from the toe of the sling up to the top of the sling. This allows for better adjustment of the angle of your foot to your leg. With the clearance rack sling there is no strap and it relies on a hard, preformed piece of plastic on the front of the sling to hold your foot in place...which kinda works. But, with the clearance sling, if you have the sling loose enough so as not to cause any pressure point/circulation pain then the sling doesn't hold your foot up as well as the AM sling does. I would much more prefer AM's toe strap design...if it wasn't for the hard heel. I guess I might could have modified (cut out the heel area) of the AM sling, but...I really didn't feel like going to that effort. In hindsight, on a better day when my foot wasn't hurting so bad I might have tried it. So, if your heel isn't super sensitive, as mine was, the AM sling will probably do a nice job at holding your foot at a good angle for you while you sleep. Like I said, if it wasn't for my heel being super sensitive to pressure I'd much prefer the Alpha Medical sling over the one I have now. Maybe in the future they'll come out with an open-heel model!!!! :) ... show more

  • Sleep with this on every night!
Size: Large
Sleep with this on every night! It's very comfortable and does the job of stretching my Achilles tendons. If it gives you pins and needles in your feet you have it too tight. It would help if you loosened up the longer straps on both sides.

  • Good product. Runs big.
Size: Medium
This is a well-made product. I was impressed with the construction. I followed the size chart and ordered Medium. I wear an 8.5 shoe, but the Medium was way too big. I couldn’t get it to fit properly around my leg or foot. The straps are adjustable, but I maxed out the potential for the smaller fit, and then the Velcro ran out. Women, if you have slender legs and ankles, and wear anything smaller than a size 9, get the Small. They did give me a hassle-free return, so all around, 5 stars ... show more
