This is a stylish upgraded personal heater. It’s more powerful (in terms of heating ability) than the kind of personal heater you’d keep under your desk in a drafty office, but smaller and more efficient than space heaters you usually find in a home. It’s kind of a hybrid of both actually. The exterior is wood grain with a leather handle and retro knobs on top. The front is reminiscent of a fireplace. You can turn the fire effect on without heat for ambience. Or you can turn the heat on without the fireplace effect or you can turn them both on together. There is also a heat adjustable knob on the left hand side. If you use the fireplace visual without heat, it’s completely silent. If you turn the heat function on there is some fan noise but it’s not obnoxious; it’s white noise. The video I uploaded is with the heat function running so you can hear what it sounds like. I’m looking forward to using this all winter. We have two thermostats for four floors of our house and as such it can be costly and random trying to keep some rooms warm without creating a sauna in others. This mighty powerhouse is portable and light enough that I can carry it up and down stairs easily as needed to keep us warm without blowing the energy budget. I highly recommend this! ... show more

First the bad: The flame is not as bright as the company's image. Next, it's still nice to look at. And it's a good warmer when close to it. It's not a warmer that warms an entire living room quickly. But it will warm the space around me. All it needs is some crackling sounds!

The media could not be loaded. This aesthetically pleasing heater provides two levels of heating and the option to display the 3D simulated fire with or without the heater function on. The operating instructions are easy to follow and complete. It’s nice to be able to have the simulated fire either with or without the heater function on and also to have heat without the simulated fire. The heater has a automatic temperature controller that turn the heater function on and off as needed to maintain a preselected temperature. The back, sides and top of the heater barely get warm when the heater is operating in both low and high mode when hot air is blowing out the front below the simulated fire. This is very nice option when my wife wants a “fire” but I don’t want to deal with all the hassle of bringing in the wood, starting and maintaining a fire, smoke smell, and waiting for it to go out completely before I can go to bed. ... show more

This is the ultimate of portable space heaters. It is easily carried with its handy little strap. If I have my hands and arms full with other things, no problem. Just stick out 2 fingers and you can carry your heater. It's tip proof. With animals around (or small children), that is a must have for fire safety.
