ALOCANE relieves pain by the use of 4% Lidocaine Hydrochloride. Four percent is the maximum percentage of Lidocaine Hydrochloride topical anesthetic allowed by the US FDA (United States Food & Drug Administration) for use in OTC (Over-The-Counter) products. Apply ALOCANE Emergency Burn Gel generously to the burned area. Repeat application of ALOCANE as often as necessary (no more than four times daily) to further extinguish pain and lessen the overall damage done. I live by this product daily and have found no other product close to this level of quality. Walgreens, Walmart, anything else on amazon, nothing beats this. (Generic brands) Buying this from Walgreens becomes pretty expensive over time, due to price per ounce. The math: Walgreens = $11.50 for 2.5oz, so $4.60 an ounce. This product = $40.15 for 32oz, so $1.26 an ounce. If you need this product for whatever purpose, you will want to be buying it in some form of bulk. To do so otherwise, will result in a very large loss of funds over time. Ounce for ounce, this is a far better deal. Anyhow before I end, I would like to mention that I loved the long sticker labeled "The Gripper" that was used to keep the product from spilling into it's shipping package. It worked flawlessly. Healing from a complicated skin/lymph system issue--been living with pain throughout the healing process. This burn gel has been a 'Go-to' at night when the pain gets worse. I have been using Alocane Maximum Strength 4% Lidocaine Emergency Burn Gel for years to relieve pain from a chronically-inflamed wound left by colon cancer surgery. Before finding this commercial size of the product, I was paying a lot more per ounce for smaller sizes and had to purchase more often. Alocane has absolutely been the best in relieving burning pains. I must admit I was concerned about the product shipping, but as you can see from the photos, the product comes in a zip-locked bag, with the pour-spout anchored down with tape. ... show more

I purchased this after a friend of mine went to the beach and her husband got burned so bad he had to go to the ER. At the ER the doctor told them to buy this product. We got to test it out when my brother in law (pictured) got burnt. Y’all. This is after ONE application and leaving it overnight. I was shocked! It saved him from extreme discomfort.     • Good for burning pain of erythromelalgia
If you put a light coating of this on your feet and, if affected, your legs, then turn a fan on and put your feet up where the cool air blows on them, it will take away the burning agony for a while -- depending on the severity of the flare, it can last until the next day.

    • Debris in Alocane
The media could not be loaded. First, my husband had a terrible burn and we used Alocane due to the advice of an emergency room doctor. It immediately took the pain away and it was great. We used a lot of Alocane over a short period of time-Alocane Burn Pads, Alocane tubes and Alocane 32 oz pump bottles to the tune of over $500.00. All of which were great until the last bottle. Black specks were being pumped out of the bottle. Upon opening the bottle, there was black debris inside. I reached out to the company that I purchased it from, Alocane and Alocane Commercial via messenger weeks ago. I received no response which prompted me to write this review. I still have the bottle and I plan to find out what the debris actually is contained in the Alocane. A definite infection risk and my husband’s burn got irritated and infected using this last bottle.     • There are stronger medications available.
This is not a very strong medication. It's proven itself to be a good value when we mix it with something else to add volume. It's thick and spreads well, so it's an excellent base for other things. It does numb pain but not as effectively as well known brands from the drugstore. I'm personally glad we bought it because it's helping to extend our supply of other medications. One thing we've enjoyed about this is its added pain killing boost when combined with menthol. This is helpful for anyone with sensitive skin who may experience discomfort from a menthol gel. Sometimes I mix lotion with this product and the menthol for light pain relief over a large area. ... show more
