These held without any problems. Some bumpy roads and handled highway speed well. I recommend installing with the label up, instead of the exposed working area when extended, to avoid whistling. That only happened once, and when installed with label up again, the whistling was gone.

This certainly does the trick! I was gifted a bike but couldn't use the bike rack since it didn't have a top bar. I purchased this one and it was delivered the next day. When they tell you to watch for pinching and that the bar's spring is sensitive -- IT IS, y'all. I just about ripped my thumbnail off! Now I know better and have been able to get it on and off without a problem, but that first time gave me some PTSD. Anyway. We got the bar on and got the bike on the rack, and it stayed put for all 250 miles until we got home! ... show more
