I've been driving a Tesla EV for over 2 years. We installed a Level 2 Tesla Wall Connector in our garage to charge the EV batteries when needed. I top off the Tesla batteries (to 80%) every 2 or 3 days as needed. Tesla uses a NACS (or TSL) standard charge plug which they developed and is currently unique to Tesla EVs and their charging network in North America. My wife recently took delivery of a Mercedes Benz EV which uses a different charge plug. Mercedes joined other EV makers to adopt the CCS plug standard for their first EVs sold in North America. This standard uses a J1772 plug for Level 2 charging. (Level 2 is AC charging at 240 volts that would be done in your garage.) Fortunately, charge plug adapters are available. We ordered a TSL to J1772 plug adapter so we can share our Tesla wall connector to charge either EV. The plug adapter works well but is bulky and needs a good storage place so we don't misplace it. I ordered this QIAO J1772 Wall Mount as a solution to easily store the Plug Adapter when not in use. When done charging, we simply unplug it from the EV and plug it onto the wall mount. I was thinking this box would be a bit larger than it is, but it still works exactly like it should. It was easy to mount with the included hardware and I placed it on a stud near my wall outlet. It holds my J1772 level 2 charging cable and plug perfectly. The neat appearance of this option looks very professional and helps keep my cable from sitting on the ground where it could be damaged more easily. If you have a non-Tesla electric vehicle and want an affordable and convenient storage solution for your J1772 charger when it isn't being used, this is a great option. ... show more

When the cable is not in use, I can either neatly coil it and put it away, or I may hang it from the holder so that it is simple to reach while it is being charged.     • Can't mount it to a 2x4 without modifications or a brace

This wall mount does the job it is supposed to do - holds my J1772 charger. My main complaint is that rather then having the mounting holes in the center, the top is in the center, and the bottom has two holes that are 2 inches apart. This means that it's impossible to mount on a wall stud without drilling your own hole... unless you do something like I did, mounting it in a spot where two 2x4 were side-by side. Not in the ideal location, but I didn't want to create a brace just to hang this thing - it's just a place to clip the charger end into. It also feels a bit flimsy, but again, it's a utilitarian item, so I guess the feel of it doesn't matter so much. Bottom line, it's fine, but there are likely better options out there. This won't work out of the box if you want to mount it to a 2x4. ... show more

My Lucid Level 2 charger was designed to just let the handle dangle rather than have a secure place to stow it; odd for a 19.2 Kwh charger. This mounting bracket works perfectly fit stowing the J1772 handle. It was incredibly easy to mount and accepts and secures the handle with ease. We recently got a EV and this wall mount was perfect for holding the cord and the charger nozzle thing. It fits our Mach-E charger, the J1772 great and is a much better set up than just laying it on the floor or shelf, it keeps it from getting dusty and dirty inside the connectors. Lovet his thing. I use a level 1 charger and the cable just hangs on the floor. Now I can loop the cable over a little but and get it off the floor. When im ready to leave I can just plug this into the wall. Love it grab one
