It's a really nice heater has a bunch of settings eco low med and high. It only uses 12.5 amps where my Central A/C uses 21.8 amps and blows air into the house that gets cold in between turning off and on which I don't like. I like this because it is a steady warm heat with no blowing air or drafts. That is why I bought it and have wanted one for several years but never wanted to put out the money. Thanks to Prime Day I got it for 12 dollars cheaper than usual. It has a remote control. Timer, Child Lock Function, Memory Function. The thermostat works between high 95F-40F low. The only thing I don't like is the Cord comes out of the front where the display is and that takes up cord length that is needed to keep a distance from walls to be able to face the controls and use the remote. This shortens the cord I need and therefore raises the cord off the ground by stretching it as far as I can and now can trip over the cord. If the cord was in the back then it would not have this problem and could lay on the floor. So it is irritating being extended and awkward. But I can learn to live with it because they offered me a free Essential Oil diffuser freebie air freshener from the product registration site and will be mailing it to my home for posting this review within 5 days. Which I am re-writing from the Amazon website to post what I really wanted to say when I originally posted it from the Freebie site. I will give this heater a 5 stars it should be 4 1/2 because of the cord but it is really a nice Oil Heater. No refilling it or anything and I did EXACTLY what my Dad told me to do when checking into buying one of these types of heaters and that is you always get the ones with the 3 lowest wattages which are 1500, 900, & 600 watts. Not the 700 watts the 600. And to read the Amps that is pulls and to read you A/C unit you have outside to see how much you will save. There is no point in buying one if you don't save on Electricity. So you can close up all your other rooms and heat the one your in and stay toasty in that room all winter long. I like this because it is like having the Oven on and the heat feels like that kind of heat that is solid heat with no drafts that is a lot more comfortable to me with my Arthritis and not having any drafts in the house. You just have to turn it on ahead of time so it warms up until the temps drop outside (next week) where it will be on all the time and only use the Outside A/C unit when you want to heat the entire house using the 21.8 amps from it. So I should be able stay nice and warm throughout the winter by jumbling these two different types of heaters I have and stay within my budget Staying warm comfortably all winter is the goal here. Update: 6 days later.............. I am really liking this heater we had a 20 degree drop in temps and I just set the timer to turn on an hour before I get up and it is toasty warm when I get up no more freezing until the place gets warm. With the cold snap I had it on high 1500 and set it at the highest temp it will go to and it definately got hot in here. And today I changed it to the ECO mode now the cold snap is over and 15 degrees warmer outside. So I set the temps on the heater at 70 degrees. and I woke up to a nice warm house on the Eco mode. So this is a good buy and a very nice heater to have. I also checked my Electricity bills from last year on days that had the same temps as the cold snap and I actually saved 54 cents using this heater instead of the Central Heating and Air Unit for the whole house. It's a keeper! Update for January, 2021 I will never go without having one of these Oil heaters in my home ever again I absolutely require having one no more WINTER DRAFTS! ... show more

    • Warms well, some room for improvement
We bought this heater to keep our room warm at night for our newborn. We have an old, drafty house and usually keep the thermostat turned way down at night because when the furnace runs it is drying and loud. Since newborns like to be warm and cozy, we thought this might be enough to keep our bedroom warm. It is! It works great to heat a roughly 120 square foot room. Our bedroom also connects to the nursery so if we have the door open between the rooms, both rooms are significantly warmer than the rest of the house. There are some things that could be improved: most importantly is the noise the heater makes when you change the settings. It makes a loud beep every time you hit a button. Sure, this feedback indicates you’re making changes, but it’s loud enough to wake a soundly sleeping baby and there’s no way to mute it, so that’s pretty annoying. Also the remote only works if you’re aiming it directly at the digital face, and both the buttons on the unit and the remote aren’t backlit so to use them in the middle of the night is difficult. The unit also doesn’t remember your eco mode setting, which is what we use most of the time, so you always have to adjust it up or down from 70 which isn’t a big deal just a little annoying. As others have said, the thermostat on the unit isn’t accurate so the eco mode is not very reliable. We have noticed our electricity bill has been higher since we started using this, but our gas has been lower from not running the furnace at night.     • Does a great job!
I bought this heater after a ton of research. I needed a way to heat up an unheated bedroom in a house I'm renting in northern New England. While this heater does not give a quick heat blast like many of the ones that just blow hot air, it does a great job of warming up the space (approx 150sf). I've always worried about the whole "oil-filled" idea - for some reason I thought that I would have to keep filling it with oil. Nope! I've no idea how it actually works with not having to fill it, but it works well. There was no odor and it is virtually silent. I did notice that after I heat up the room, and then turn it off before bed, about 15 minutes later it makes a couple popping sounds. The metal cooling, I think is what it is. Note that this metal space heater gets HOT. Meaning this is not a good idea if you have little ones that don't understand the word. I've heated up my space from 57 to 80 degrees in about 90 minutes, just to see how well it would work. Typically I just warm the room up enough to take the chill off, and then go to bed. The wheels make this very easy to move to a different location - and it was very easy to wheel across the house to use in the laundry room to keep a small space warm while I waited for dough to rise when baking. For the amount I use it, I was not expecting much change in my electrical bill, and so far, almost no difference whatsoever. ... show more
