  • Amazing gift!
Started harvesting a bit of the herbs by week 4! Although the thyme, like I had seen in pervious reviews, did not grow at all. However, all the other plants are healthy and grow pretty fast. I got it as a gift for your girlfriend because she was talking about wanting to grow her own herbs and veggies so it's a perfect plant starter/pot because the pods are easy to take out and move to another pot or you can just leave them in a cut a few leaves off every now and then. The light is very bright but if you've got it around in a corner somewhere on the kitchen counter like I do it shouldn't be a problem. I like that the the reminders for food and water don't make any noise but turn the buttons to a flashing red so you easily know when more is needed. Haven't tried to plant anything other than the pods that came with it because I wanted to make sure it was going to work first since we have never tried to grow plants before but eventually I plan on buying their grow your own pods and planting different herbs to use in the kitchen. Overall it's an amazing planter and I would recommend getting this for people who want to get into gardening because like I said you can grow them in the here and easily transfer them to another pot and you can do that as many times as you want! It's also not as big as I expected but it's also not too small and I think it's the perfect size to leave them in if you are going to continuously cut some leaves and stems off otherwise it will obviously eventually outgrow the pot. ... show more

  • Absolutely love!!!!
This is my most favorite purchase!!! I can bro fresh herbs, flowers, and tea varieties right on my kitchen counter. The light stays on for about 15 hours so if you don’t have a way to get away from it, you may not like it, but it’s okay for me. It’s easy to use and it works great. It’s very quiet, the pump works great and there’s no leaks whatsoever. There’s some areas on the inside that are a little hard to get to in order to clean it. I love mine and it’s definitely worth it! ... show more

  • Remarkable little home hydro setup
Another christmas gift for the missus. She loves it and so do I. Really, really really easy to set up and start growing right away. We put the Italian herb pods in there, dumped in some juice and filled the reservoir and we had lovely sprouts within days. A month later and we've got six inch high basil, thyme, parsley and mint. Love it. My only complaints are that the instructions are a little cryptic and you have to kind of guess at whether you've set the lighting timer correct. I figured it out eventually with a little trial and error. And don't fool yourself that you can set and forget, because you still need to watch these things and prune them and make sure they aren't crowding each other out. Also, be aware that the lights on this thing are super, duper bright. Try and set the timer so that it's off at night because you can see this thing from space. If you have cats, consider setting it up on a shelf because ours loved to smack the caps off the pods and play around with the sprouts. We ultimately set it up in a cabinet with the door removed. This is apparently a no-no per the instructions but we haven't had any issues with airflow or heat retention. Just make sure there's room to raise the grow light once your sprouts start growing. ... show more

  • Easy to use
Style: Harvest Color: White
For the first time ever, I’ve been able to grow and keep herbs alive! The aero garden is so easy to use, and has flashing light indicators reminding you to add water or plant food. The lights turn on/off automatically. It’s so easy to set up and get started - pretty much just drop in the pods, fill up water/food and let it do its thing. I just need to find more recipes using the herbs because they grow faster than we consume them! ... show more

  • Grow your own food at home
Style: Harvest Color: White
I received one Aerogarden Harvest as a gift from my in-laws for Christmas. It came with the heirloom salad greens kit. We had sprouts less than 1 week after starting, and it provided salad greens for nearly 4 months before the plants matured and stopped producing more leaves. This provided 2-3 large salads per week for two adults. Some weeks we had 3-5 small side salads for two adults, per week. The lights on the base tell you when it needs more water and when to add more food. I have a reputation as a black thumb and it made me really happy to have such great success with growing plants. In 2022 I think everyone should be doing something to produce some of their own food, due to the supply chain crisis and crazy inflation rates that just keep going up. It's added a lot to my peace of mind knowing if nothing else I can grow my own salads. I realize it will take a while for the savings of my grocery bill to offset the initial cost of the aerogarden, but it's really empowering to feel that I can provide even a little of my own food right now. I have enjoyed the Aerogarden so much that I ordered a second unit which I have been using for growing herbs. I got the herb kit from Aerogarden and had very mixed results with this. The mint got an aphid infestation after a few weeks, when the mint plant was very large. This surprised me because all the articles about aphids that i read suggest adding mint to your garden because aphids are "supposed" to dislike mint. The dill and basil grew INSANELY well. I've harvested and dried dill and basil three times in the past 2 months. I filled 5/6 trays in my Cosori dehydrator with each batch. The thyme has stayed very small and the parsley also didn't grow very well. So, I think that the success of the Aerogarden is a bit situational and depends on the type of plant you are trying to grow. Salads are easy and very successful. Herbs.... your mileage may vary. Also, the size of the plants can sometimes be a hinderance to the growth of different plants in the same unit, or easily harvesting the leaves. I had a much easier time harvesting when the entire planter had only the same type of plant growing in it. For example, the basil plants got so large that they completely shaded the thyme and parsley because these grew much slower at the start of the garden. The basil had so many leaves that I had a little difficulty accessing the plants in the center of the planter. So I don't think i will ever try to grow large plants such as tomatoes or peppers in the aerogarden, simply for the convenience of being able to easily access any other plants in the unit. i am actually considering buying a THIRD aerogarden so I can have two units both growing a large variety of salad greens so that we have enough greens for two adults to have a large salad every single night. ... show more
