I bought these for my wood stove. Prior to having these, I would get splinters and throw wood into the stove out of fear of the fire. Now, I can easily and calmly place wood into the stove and if necessary, even move logs around in the fire for better air flow.

These gloves are fantastic, I have moved burning logs around inside the fireplace to add additional logs. Of course I don't leave my hand in there to see how long it would take to feel the heat, but for the simple act of maintaining an active fire they protect my hands and forearms very well.
