I just bough a second pair of these to use as oven mits! I was tiered of my kitchen aid oven mits burning me and causing me to rush to get things set down. With these, i can take hot things out of the oven and take my time safely putting them down. I also have another pair i use for mig and stick welding. They are awesome! Purchased for husband after he requested gloves to protect his hands while adding firewood into burning fires in fireplace. These work to protect his hand and forearms. He has not attempted to hold his gloved hand in a burning fire for a long duration of time. The purpose of the gloves are to protect his limbs from the fire for a few short seconds. If you are looking to purchase this item to hold your limbs in a fire for a longer duration, I would recommend researching fire resistant apparel. He approves of these gloves. Very nicely made. The stitching is well done and the weight of the leather is very good. I got these for use with a kettle BBQ and I think the quality is excellent, especially at this price. The fit is very good. I have large hands and these fit perfectly. They may be a bit tight if you wear an XL glove, but are exactly what I was looking for.
