The oil pastel is perfect to me from many aspects (ie. easy to use, nice color, strong pigmentation, etc). The texture of the pastel is hard enough that you don't have to worry about breaking the pastels. Yet, because of the hardness, the pastel is difficult to be blended by knives at room temp (that's the only down part I would say about this pastel). ... show more

First, i'm using oil pastels, and I wanted to do a base of a sunset or sunrise... This is easily accomplished, and i'm astonished.By the color payoff and blendability.... This is just a small sketch.I have a bigger picture.I would love to accomplish and just the background .. I can definitely see me using this for a finished product, but how light fast are they?Has anyone done any real testing? The blendability in the colors make this a valuable medium to work with, and the price is excellent..... This is something a real artist would sell their painting with?
