    • I neede a 5 inch "plunger" for my mobile home.
This piece fit perfectly into the door handle assembly that I had. The mobile home had a 5 inch plunger though and the standard is 3. It fit perfectly and now I have a working back door again !! quick delivery, great quality.

The items was well constructed, but didn't fit exactly in the "1 inch" hole where it was to go. If that happens, you (or you're handyman) will have to use a rasp? to enlarge the hole to be able to insert the same. Once inserted it works great!

    • Offset door knob needs longer latch
As title suggests your typical door knob is 1 3/4 -2 inches from the side of the door. Mine is a large oak door that's 5 inches from the edge. Been repairing the one that's been on the door since I lived here 20 year's. House was built in 1896. Might be the original door. The latch itself was an antique and modern door knobs needed fabrication to work. This peice let's me fit modern design antique and functional looking knobs making my house much more secure. The way I had it the lock on a bedroom door was far superior. Should have done it long ago. Much better door closing with a click of wow thats a lock. ... show more

We are renovating our 1970’s home and there are a couple of doors that have door handles with the 5” assembly, it looks strange, but we didn’t want to buy new doors. We purchased new handles and were able to make these work with them. I will say that these need the handle to rotate 90 degrees to fully retract. We bought handles that only rotate 45 degrees. I was still able to use the new handles with some tweaking, but something you should note. Otherwise, it functions as expected. ... show more

I bought this for a neighbor because a backseat this size is hard to find. I took The old one out and put this one in using her same old lock and this was a perfect fit. I’m definitely pleased with it
