These clippers have a very low price tag, and don’t really outshine it. That said, you can abuse these until they break, and you’re only out about $9 for 3 types of garden clippers. The sharpening stone they come with is a neat addition for that value. The blades are sharp, so that’s nice. The handles feel cheap, I don’t expect a lot of usage from them. My biggest complaint is the 3/16” of exposed sharp edge on the parrot beak clipper, when it is closed. That’s an awful design, and someone could very well injure themselves if picking them up without paying attention. ... show more

    • Decent gardening scissors
This is an okay set of different types of garden scissors and trimmers. I will definitely have to sharpen the blades, as they are not as sharp as I need, after just a few uses on trimming up my flowers and vegetable plants. I also do not like the lock on the skinny pointed scissors, as it typically does not want to slide up, leaving me unable to close and lock them. I'm really not sure why that has happened, but it's definitely a big con for me. The other pairs have worked better for me, in regards to their locking mechanisms. I think they are decent quality, but could use a few adjustments to their designs to make them even better. ... show more

Each cutting device works great so far, and they all have a safety locking mechanism. I think this is a great value for 3 quality garden tools. The sharpening device is an added bonus to keep the blades nice and sharp to last longer. There are no instructions for using the sharpener though, which would have been helpful. Overall, you can go wrong with this deal if your avid gardener. Whether needing these tools to start your garden or to have as a spare, they are sure to get the job done!     • Handy Trio of Cutting Tools
These tools all came pretty sharp to begin with, so I haven't yet used the sharpening stone. Straight after opening, though, I was able to take these outside and trim my blueberry plants with them. The small, straight-edged tool has since found a place in my kitchen as herb scissors, and the other two cutters stay in the garden. These won't cut off a tree branch, but they are working well for herbs, woody stems, and blackberry and raspberry canes. I'm glad to have the sharpening stick on hand for when these tools get dull, which, so far, seems a long way off. ... show more

    • Lightweight and Sturdy
The media could not be loaded. A few weeks ago, I inadvertently lost my pruning shears in the garden. While some vegetables like tomatoes don’t need to be clipped from the mother plant, others like crook neck squash need to be clipped or else they could damage the plant. I usually don’t purchase gardening tools online; it’s too convenient for me to pick them up at a local feed store. However, the size of these caught my attention. When I received the package, I was astounded by the weight of these tools. These are heavy duty tools, make no mistake, but their weight makes a huge difference, particularly during gardening. My previous (still missing) shears weighed a ton in my hand, but with these, it feels so lightweight that I don’t feel like I’m physically lugging something around. And they’re the perfect size to fit in my pocket, unlike my previous pair. All three shears have a lock on them and with the bright color, I’ll easily be able to find them when I drop them (as I most assuredly will). This set also comes with a sharpening stone to keep the tools in tip top shape. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at how well made these are. I’ve already used them in the field and they easily snapped elderberry canes, but more importantly, they cut the canes clean. I absolutely recommend these! ... show more
