Bent the hell out of the large ring trying to get a ball joint out to no avail, probably user error. Had to beat the ball joint out with a 4lb sledge. It worked well for putting the ball joints back in. It also worked well for pushing some rubber bushings out.

    • Bolt bent before ball joint was pressed out
The bolt bent on about its 6th use. Even with heat and hammering the knuckles or control arms I’ve found it easier to hammer out than to use this press. It’s the only tool for the job when pressing them in, but the poor bolt quality is upsetting

    • Universal Joint Removal a Breeze
This tool made the removal of my universal joints a breeze. Pesonally, I greased the screw before using and used my impact driver to drive out the u-joints. This is a heavy-duty tool, and you'll know it by the weight of the case. On a side note, I used one of the adapters that came in the case to hammer on/install the new rear transmission seal as well. Kit is complete and got the job done on a 2006 dodge Dakota 4x4, but the 2 straight tubes that are machined to fit together are not tight enough machined and will slip inside each other and that makes it much harder to use the kit correctly. It will get the job done, but don't know if it would do another joint install. Metal is pretty soft. ... show more
