These small tools are really good for light pruning or cutting roses & other smaller stem flowers. The hook nose cutters were especially good for grabbing onto the thorny rose stems, without accidentally cutting multiple stems at the same time. For light trimming, these definitely do the trick. They are strong and have very sharp edges. The only con is that they are NOT recommended for larger branches or woody, thicker stems. They're just not made for that, which was fine for me. I did not know what to expect but am pleased. I have only used the curved bypass pruners so far and they are sharp and sturdy. The others look likewise. Trimmed quite a bit of plant material. Handles even fit my hand well. To me they are a great value for light home use.
