    • Good security chains for side gates
I've found these chain work great for my side gates. I have tube ag gates with a wood post fence and this chain is light enough to handle wrapping around the gate and fence post without being giant, heavy chains. I'm able to wrap them twice and I exclude the carabiner section when I put a lock on. The carabiner part does help keep the chain up on the gate so you don't worry about dropping it in the dirt. These chains are nicely welded, and keep folk from wandering where they shouldn't. I do recommend these! Use for your gates, bikes, stuff on your jeep or trailer that you don't want falling off. These chain locks work awesome. I love that they are 24" long, it makes them very versatile. I needed a chain that was long enough to wrap around and through a pallet and post for a removable fence panel. These worked great and the carabiners are easy to open/unclip. They've held up really well to the stress from the animals jumping and rubbing on the panel they are securing and haven't started to rust or weather. ... show more

I built a chicken coop from scratch using mostly salvaged materials and I needed a way to keep the clean out door open when I rake the old bedding and manure out. I picked up this chain in order to connect it to a roof joist and a couple carabiners to hold the door open.     • Not for large posts, but good for lightweight applications
This chain is not long enough to wrap around a gate that closes onto a large wood post (8" round post), unless your gate closes very tightly to the post. A little more length would make it more useful. Still, I am giving it a positive review because it seems to be good quality, and good for most other applications. It seems sturdy even though it is very lightweight, and it feels clean and smooth on the hands. We will see how it lasts in the wet season. ... show more

These work okay for being relatively cheap and a two pack. Overall the quality didn't exceed expectations, but they are good enough to use for a small gate or small animals. I did knock off a star because they say for horse use and I don't think these would be durable enough to hold up well for horses. They are very small and lightweight. Due to size they aren't super convenient for unhooking around a large farm gate in my opinion. Though do work fine for small dog gate sorta thing though. ... show more

If you have a pool or a place kids should not go, this is for you. You receive two chains that have what they call lobster claw clasps. They are not easy to open, if you were a child, They are long enough to go around most gates twice with the clasp on each end. I have the boys all summer and was very worried about the pool. These are such a great quality chains that I am not so worried. Of course you still need to viligant but if I need to go upstairs or am in another room these will slow any progress to open the gates.
