This is an interesting as well as great product. I say "interesting" because most portable propane burner stoves are marketed for tailgating and camping, and they look very utilitarian, usually boxy and in green, and they have wind screens. This stove is shiny brushed chrome and has no wind screen. It frankly looks TOO fancy to use outdoors. I think the idea is that this stove would look in place in a semi permanent role in an outdoor kitchen, where a "real" camp stove would look too much like a tool. It's almost as large across as a kitchen stove - almost 2 feet wide. Assembly consisted of attaching the regulator hose to the stove, and no teflon tape was necessary. Both burners have piezoelectric starters and both light easily by clicking the heat controls. Both seem to have similar flames. Heat control is smooth, except that when increasing the heat from minimum low upward there is a "jump" where the outer burner ring suddenly lights. Some readjustment while watching the flame is necessary. Otherwise operation was easy and flawless. My one test: an open Revere Ware steel pan with 2 qt of cold tap water heated to a rolling boil in 9 minutes at the highest temp setting. No soot collected on the bottom of the pan. (the flame is perfectly adjusted.) My other advice is just as with any gas burner or range make certain your pan is large enough: the flame will scorch a small diameter pan's handles. There is one trivet supplied that provides a "bridge" across the supplied burner grate. This flame is strong enough to use for pressure canning or distilling and would be excellent for wok cookery too. There are thoughtful touches to this stove's entire packaging. The included trivet, as mentioned, lets you use a slightly small pan on one burner at a time. Also in the box was a bag of replacement plastic parts: four feet (for the stove) and two extra burner knobs and bezels for the knobs. I believe you should trust this company to fully back its products. Here's why. I received my first order for this stove and proceeded to assemble the stove to the regulator hose assembly. Apparently the threads on the stove side were damaged or stripped and I could not attach the hose. I contacted Besnerg and they requested pictures of the issue. After a couple of emails exchanged they decided to ship me a replacement stove at no charge which arrived promptly. ... show more

The stove is trivial to assemble, hook up, and is quickly ready to start cooking. It is not quite as portable as the name suggests because the cooking rings are not attached to the stove, they just set on the top, and there is no handle of any sort. I also find it to be rather delicate in construction, so not really suited for that big lobster pot you use at the beach. The photo shows the underside of the stove (I have attached the burner ring with a twisty so that I can easily transport the stove). In addition to the light-duty crossbars, the steel of the stove flexes easily. This does not impair the cooking function of the stove, but it does mean you should be careful when transporting it around. The spark-start works well and the burners quickly light. The burners have an inner-outer structure so there is a handy option of a very-low simmer or a full burner. That is, there is a small innter burner for simmering and a large outer burner for full heat, and this is very convenient. Brown the veggies and meat for the chili, then set it on low simmer to develop that flavor. Handy! ... show more

    • Neat little camping stove.

My daughter and I like to camp overnight in many of the beautiful areas in Utah, where we live. Unfortunately, by the time we received this stove, it was getting pretty late in the season. Hence, we haven't really had a chance to put it to use in a mountain camping opportunity. We did, however, cook a meal in our backyard with it, just to get a feel about how it worked. I love it! It sets up simply on a picnic table, it lights easily. It burns consistently. And the stainless steel is easy to clean. And the thing is so flat and compact, it can be slipped in almost anywhere. We picked up one of the small green propane tank tp use with it, and it was plenty if fuel to cook our dinner. Now I can't wait until camping season rolls around to use this and a few other camping supplies we've picked up. ... show more

The first thing I noticed about this portable propane stove is that it's heavy duty and should last many years. I like that it uses standard (5-40 pound) propane cylinders so it will keep heating long enough for cooking many meals during a power outage. It has a 36-inch hose to connect the propane tank to the stove, and it comes with a small insert (trivet) that allows me to use one of the burners with a small pan. The piezoelectric ignition lights quickly and easily. the burners are both adjustable, from low to high heat. This stove is as big as a house stove with only 2 burners, if you want to use a small pot you need the adapter so the pot doesn’t fall through to the burner, I wish it showed the grill top dimensions, because I wouldn’t have bought, I’m stuck with a stove that is useless

I got this because my wife wont let me fry in the house or cook certain things like sausage and peppers. This nicely built two burner stove has the hose and regulator included. I used a y connect on my propane tank to attach both this burner and my grill, and this sits on the previously unused side of my grill. Works perfect. Really nice sturdy build quality and produces a great ring of flame. Nice heavy metal surface rings to mate with any kind of pots or pans.
