Our 18 foot round winter pool cover prevents and keeps the water inside uncontaminated until spring.

The 18 ft round pool cover with overlap I bought thru amazon from Yankee pool cover company has turned out to be a great and durable cover for more thickness than their competitors and the ones I've bought in the past, and they stand behind their warranty, case and point. The cover and cable are great but when we cinch up the cover with the cable winch, the winch fell apart. Long story short, I sent the Yankee co. an E-mail telling them about the bad winch and should be part of the cover warranty and without hesitation the Co. got back to me before the end of day and said a replacement Winch is on its way thru postal service. The winch came in a couple of days and is bigger and stronger than the original one. Bottom line, they care about their customers. Kudo's to this company, Yankee pool covers. Priced well. Loved the thickness. The wire did not easily tangle as most do. If I may make a suggestion to the company -The wire lock is adequate but I would have liked it to lock better and less prone to slipping.     • Buy a new heavy duty wrench and dispose the one included.

I liked the cover because it is 1 foot bigger than the ones I have had in the past. The construction seems heavy duty. The cover fit my pool better than any cover I've used in the past. The wrench fell apart before I was able to begin to tighten the wire. Luckily my heavy duty wrench on my old cover was still in good condition, otherwise I would of had to buy a new one before I could fasten the cover to my pool. I wanted to voice my opinion to the company but could not find a phone number for customer service. I wish the wrench would not have fallen apart because I would have given the cover a 5 star. If I would have had to buy a new wrench and not fasten the cover until I received the wrench. I would be giving the cover a 3 rating. Buy a heavy duty wrench when buying this cover avoid the frustration. ... show more

This cover exseeded my expectations in quality. The cover is nice and thick and the fabric hem line where the grommets are is made from really durable material. My pool is 24' round and I like to go up a size in cover due to the winds & snow weight. I have plenty of over lap this way and I don't have to chase it all winter long with the sides sliding up due to weight. Very happy with purchase its a wait and see how it holds up to Massachusetts winter weather. The only thing I was surprised about was that the top side of the cover is a dark purple when I expected it to be blue. If that's all I can say about what's bad I got over that really fast. It's a Great cover and hoping I get a couple of years out of it considering it good quality. ... show more

Cover was 6 years when two weeks ago an 8pt buck leaped into our pool during the night. While he tore it up pretty bad it held him up from the hooves hitting the bottom or sides. No tears in the liner. I replaced it with the same cover. It’s of great quality and thickness. If as good as the previous cover I should get at least another 6 years if the deer stop their midnight swims. PS: The buck survived and was able to pull itself to the side rail and crawl out. This is thicker than the ones we've had in the past so hopefully won't rip in one season. Very pleased with it so far.     • Not quite as expected

First off, the ratchet tool that comes with the cover is absolute garbage. If you plan on purchasing this cover you will 100% want to buy a heavier duty ratchet for the cable. Mine broke on the first turn that had barely any tension on it. The cover itself is definitely thicker than other covers I’ve had however I was surprised to see it was basically just a thick round tarp. Don’t know what I was expecting I guess… but it seems sturdy nonetheless. I do like how the size is much larger than the pool, this made it easier to install and also gives me peace of mind that snow and water will not make it fall off. The strap on the outer edge of the cover with the grommets on it does worry me a bit. It looked very cheap and flimsy and honestly I do not know if it will even hold through some wind or snow before it starts ripping apart from the tarp/cover. We will see how it last through this winter I guess. All in all, it’s not bad. It’s pricey for what it is. I thought for $160+ the quality would be a little better and at least include a ratchet that isn’t garbage. I’d give it 3 stars. I took 1 star away for the ratchet breaking, and another star for quality of the edging / price-to-quality ratio. As long as the actual main cover part handles the weather well, I can modify the edging and get a new ratchet to keep it going a few seasons. ... show more
