Much better than I expected for $43. Looks to be well made and sturdy. Not the easiest to change the speed but, there are 2 speeds if you need them. You just need to unbolt the crank handle and move it over. Nice black powder coating and bright zinc plating to resist rusting. Good quality belt instead of wire cable. The belts are a lot safer/ more comfortable to handle in most situations. I really can't come up with any complaints or concerns with this hand winch. It looks like it will do the job with style. It also has a convenient cog/brake system. You can make it ratchet in, out or, free wheel just with a flip of the lever. The small spring will keep it in whatever position you choose. This hand winch is really nice, it has two gear ratios 4:1-8:1. You put the handle on the shaft that you need. Very smooth action pulling and letting the strap out under load. This crank will work great on my boat. My old one has severe rust as I use to use it in Salt Water. This one is powder coated and now that it will be used in fresh water only, should outlast my boat. The strap is well enforced with stitching and has a heavy duty hook. It does not come with mounting but that is fairly standard for boat cranks. Add on: The handle on this one was too long for the space so I had to swap it out for the smaller handle on the smaller winch. Not that often a consideration, but it can be. Probably too heavy duty for a jet ski, but if you're concerned then go for this one. I'm going to replace the 1600 lbs winch on my 20' general purpose trailer with this one. I'll put the 1600 lbs winch on my old jet ski trailer. So this one is twice the weight of my 1600 lbs winch, but the strap seems about the same. This strap is a 1/16"'shy of 2" wide. ... show more
