I ordered this because of the pad that came with my heat press machine, it was more of a cotton pad. Worked well but didn't prevent burns with constant use. I am still getting used to this new heat-resistant pad. I don't have a clam close heat press, so I still have to put a pad under the silicone pad for the added pressure. It is very sturdy in weight; I don't think it matters what side use put it on. I will keep you posted. ... show more
