I decide to buy it just in case for small projects in house because it uses 110 VAC. I used the 3/32" smallest rods suggested to make sure my house breaker can hold it. It worked OK. It is the first time I tried to weld with machine so it looked ugly but the parts stick together anyway. Need to practice more. It comes with everything but no welding rods that I wish it should. It is light, compact and easy to maneuver with rotating knob to adjust power continuously. Everything is inside the carrying box and stored without space worried. However, I need to buy a welding helmet as well as the hammer. The ones go with machine is poor plastic, simple, and not for serious using. ... show more

The welder seems to work well but I have little knowledge of welding so it will take some time to get a hang of that. Had a problem with the rod holder rod would stick to metal and pulling it away the holder loosened up and after a while the machine would not hold the outlet in. There is no place to get a replacement part and if I can't find one this unit will be useless to me. Just wish there was a website to get this part would make life a little easier ... show more

Right out of the box it was easy to set up. It takes a little bit of practice to strike an arc but once you figure it out then no problem. I did fine that I had to raise the amps a little higher than my 220 volt welder but that was no problem because it goes up to 250 amps. What I really found nice about this hand held welder is the convenience of 110 voltages is you can find 110 volts every where. I would recommend this hand held welder very nice tool. ... show more

I'm always checking out new gadgets and toys. This welder is no toy! first try out of the box was at the end of a 100ft. 12 ga. cord to see how much line loss. But it took off and burned through 1/8" angle iron. I have 40+ years of welding/fabrication experience. Very easy to figure out and get it up and going. So far only used with 6011 3/32 rod. Have no doubts about it working well with some of the 1/8" rod. Beginners may experience difficulties starting arch. But its no problem for me. If it lasts more than 3-4 years, I'll be satisfied. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I was very skeptical about this tool. i buy all my stuff from HF , and i have never seen anything like this. I am not a professional welder, but frieiand family ask me sometimes to help, so it's absolutely convenient to take with me. Not sure what technology it uses, but it's welding so smooth ( i am using thin rods and 105 on settings) It comes with gloves and glasses ( keep them as backup only) Absolutely recommended ... show more

    • Nice Welding Gun For Simple Repairs
This plastic welding gun and stapler worked better then I expected. I had a couple of tubs I use for outdoor feeders that had developed cracks in and this little machine did a nice job of fixing them up after I got the hang of it. Starting out you might want to practice on some scrap so you can get the hang of doing a clean job. The welder has a nice and long cord and everything fits in the included carrying case. I tried a couple different staples out and they do break off as it indicates but more often then not I had to use the clippers. You might want to find some pre sliced ones so you can more easily snap them off. For the price this was a great little device that did what I wanted it to do and so far the repairs seem to be holding up. ... show more
