I bought this product for my 9 and 11 year old boys. They got one each. In reading the instructions it said to tighten the wheels before each use. I did it for one of the trucks but forgot it for the other. Lo and behold, the one I forgot to tighten had its right front wheel came off and I lost one of the hub assembly parts when the wheel came off. This hub assembly has a cross bar that runs through the drive shaft allowing for the hub assembly to be secure in one place rather than rotating freely. I had to get a small finishing nail with the right diameter to replace that small part and to make sure the hub assembly does not spin freely. I would advise people that the first thing they should do is but a drip of loctite (or nail polish in a pinch) on those wheel nuts (the thread on the drive shaft to be specific) to make sure the nut does not fall off. I would not say it's a faulty design since proportionately to its size and weight, these trucks generate a lot of torque and spinning rotation that the nuts will come lose no matter what. The package also came with an adapter that allows two batteries to be connected to the truck at the same time, extending its running time. The adapter on one of the truck was not working. It's not a big deal since I've been running the trucks with just one battery at a time then replacing the batter as they run down. These adapters are not cheap at $10 each but I bought extras anyway since I have two additional spare batteries for each truck extending the kids' driving time to around 1 1/2 hours. Which brings me to that batteries. Each battery packet will run the truck around 20 minutes on low power mode with hard driving (the only way a 9 or 11 year old knows how to drive). The truck comes with two battery packets. I bought an extra set of two batteries for each truck which got expensive but at least it lasts long enough that the kids are satisfied with the driving time. Mechanically I have not run into any problems so far. The kids run the trucks pretty hard and have been bashing objects or even roadside curbs when they get out of control. I am expecting something to break soon just out of normal wear and tear. Good news is Legendary pretty much sells every part in the truck if something breaks. I've read from others that this is not really a 1/10 scale but more a 1/16. But for first time RC owners in my kids, it's plenty big enough and surprisingly durable. Granted they received this as a Christmas gift so it's not even one month yet as I write this review. I am happy with the product in general but you have to have the right expectations. Proportionately, this thing puts loads of mechanical stress on the parts. If you drive your car/truck like this I'm sure it will break something soon enough. I love this TRUCK there really is nothing else to say about it it’s fast it’s cheap. I have other trucks from Traxxas. This truck is not the best but for the money it’s the best bang for your book but I will say the shipping and receiving on this truck is horrible The sales people need to step up their game and get the order shipped out when the order is bought. This is my second time buying this and this is the second time this is late like I said it’s a great truck great product and actually easy to fix you can go on legendary website or on Amazon and they have all the parts you need as long as you know what you were doing. It is a very easy truck to fix, but really legendary. You guys need to step up the game on your shipping department!!!!! That is the only reason why you guys do not get five stars. Great truck I run traxxas team associated axial Arrma and ecx its not traxxas but it is not less surprising than it was on here for years I thought awe toys no good now the had clearance 2 years prices were 10th scale 200 ish 160 usually brushed models 1/16 120 and 1/20 89 and I got the 16th 2 for 28 each yeah almost bought 5 but I thought I could try then buy and nope all gone but brushless 16th in a 2 day period they got 3 more I saw a week later I got another they handle as well if not better than traxxas tq remote the 120 as well I got one of those with the blue hood yellow aqua man fork on it looks awesome deal was great the 20 does about 15 to 20 mph and one downfall shocks are only coil over fake oil filled shocks but moved with smooth ease and easy to put 16 dollars in a set of 4 star oil filled the 16th as well the tenth has headlamp and tail lights bright very all 3 have working foglights but the tenth is oil filled 6 shocks work well does a honest 30 as advertised and my only complaint is it is to easy to Hitt reverse double braking not even full strokes but has great steel driveshafts all 3 models 4 wheel drive and the tenth on clearance has 4 shocks in rear but they also all use deans plug better than traxxas design but yeah great trucks I wish now so much I got the 16th brushless 160 down to 70 all gone sonic triton and the tenth is same as legendary purple white black yellow and blue yellow white both beautiful both 169 I paid 56 each got 2 10th scales and paid 16 for a blue yellow white body I looked em over all 3 are the exact same designs 2 at 170 one black yellow red 56 gone now but the 20th scale are set 2 38 now and hosim or haiboxing is selling the exact truck 2 body's for 89 or 99 I realize that's the reason there trying to get 1 brand but so many from same factory different brands and prices just pay attention to detail realize there's only so many factorys and I work at one making cheese for pizza for like 5 companies pizza hut Dominos papa both lols so my poor typos im basically said that legendary rc is having an actual clearance event in 3 designs and scales starting with the most prominent 10th scale Legendary Legend is what I refer to it as its not the same as the real Legend model but it is a good quality rc truck at 56 dollars for everything needed to operate it and it slides on asphalt well in a 180 degree swing no rollover issues! The 16th scale is 28 dollars and I've had a few of these trucks awhile and there durable and easy to fix there performance is as good as the other 16th scale rc trucks that are not top of the line brands but are great for the price! And I honestly think out of all the budget models in 16th scale rc truck non brushless there one of the best overall quality and functional! The 20th scale are 38 great price and is awesome im not much of a mini rc gut but these on smooth asphalt are fast enough to outrun a man and do 15 plus mph doesn't seem fast try it you won't regret buying it for 100 or less it's a decent car bezgar has one equal and identical to it as well it'd not a indoor rc cars to fast but has a good little transmitter and all transmitters of the 3 work fine with any model so little boy can get a 20th scale rc remote and drive the 10th scale truck for people who are not near smooth enough surface not that you can't off road with them you can always run them wherever I just meant you want the most capable rc truck in your budget legendary won't let you down gently they slam through the issues theoretically and physically!! No im not being paid to say this or compensation in any way other than the quality the 2 year old set of legendary trucks I've had only needed new motors after miles and miles of fun and I replaced them easily! ... show more
