This car is AWESOME, I’m glad I didn’t listen to my doubts regarding it due to the people claiming it’s fragile and breaks. It’s not, it’s a very lightweight, very fast car that needs to be finessed. You simply cannot open it, then take it out full throttle. This is a top performing hobby car with high quality electronics and motor, not a 20$ toy section at a retail store car. That said, in my first trial I started slow and got a feel for it then gradually stepped it up as I learned its limits. I rolled it multiple times, flipped it once, and accidentally hit a small stationary object with one of the wheels, nothing broke. The key is to slow down if you think a collision is imminent but do be careful and learn the brakes because they work so well it will flip if you hit them too hard at high speed. If you slap something at 20-30 miles per hour, you’re gonna have a bad time. To jump it and drive aggressively you probably will need to upgrade parts as you go along but fortunately they are out there and they are available. I think this is a great starter platform to either use as is with care, or build up as you want more from it. As to the product at hand, it is very well made and put together. I checked all the fasteners and they were tight and good to go. It was packaged very nicely, came with commonly broken spare parts, and everything you need for turn-key fun while also safely operating it. I’m glad it came with the protective bag for charging the battery also because it wasn’t mentioned in the product description and I was a bit worried about charging and storage. The remote is indeed a bit small but I appreciate that it is compact, it works great it’s just the size that could be improved since it does feel a bit awkward after a while. Regardless at this price point I’m not really complaining. Everything was as advertised and more, very satisfied with the purchase and put a big smile on my face. **Update**- I did end up having an issue charging the provided battery and wanted to comment on the customer service. I reached out to Laegendary and they were great to work with! They responded same day, were very courteous, and did everything they could to resolve my issue in a timely matter. We did a little troubleshooting and found there was an issue with charging. In the end they replaced everything right away and promptly sent it out free of charge to resolve my issue, I didn't even have to send anything back. I could tell they care about their customers and stand behind their products! I just wanted to do a quick update to let people know that if you do end up having an issue, they wont leave you hanging and have you up and running in no time. ... show more

I bought this one (more expensive) for me and the legend (less expensive) for my son, and a $70 one from Walmart online. The two cheaper ones have been ran into trees, benches, off play ground equipment, rolled probably hundreds of times etc. Mine hit a divot and went rolling once and it broke both mounts for the body. I used epoxy and hot glue to hold them firm. They are good now, kind of. The next time out I was driving it on a sidewalk, along with my son and daughter and we cut a corner through grass onto another sidewalk. Again, the two cheaper ones were fine, mine broke the front suspension. The kids have played with their cheapies all summer, and i finally got around to mine and got it fixed yesterday (after nearly a year of it sitting in my closet) and last night we went out and played. We drove them up and down a dirt hill and they were jumping theirs (a little hill about a foot high total), me being a cool dad tried to jump mine too and it broke the front bumper off when it landed and hit a small rock, about the side of a golf ball (car is pretty flat flying at least lol). I'll own that as it hit a rock, but the cheap ones seem to hold up a lot better. So I epoxied it together last night and we went out again today. Going off a curb, my car lost it's right rear wheel. A curb, 4-6 inches right? It landed flat and straight. But lost the wheel and now it's broken. It's way to expensive for this low of quality. There's all kinds of metal upgrades I've seen online and now I know why. The remote and batteries do last a long time. I think it says 40 minutes but considering I've only ever charged it once, a year ago, and it was still going strong today I'd say the batteries do last lol. I have about 30 minutes or less of play time with this car. I would definitely not buy this car, not worth the 70 I paid for my daughter's lol. ... show more

Overall I REALLY like the Thunder! has a little bit of throttle studder when taking off in forward or reverse at lower speeds. It's also sluggish going quickly between forward and reverse, but it's manageable and doesn't really hurt the experience. The "brakes" are fantastic (and will almost send the car into a summersault), which is great because it is FAST. I'm leary about running it on 3S because I've hear of other people burning up their ESC, but I plan to give it a go at some point. However, on 2S I think it would easily outrun my WLToys 144001. The photo I included shows the size difference. The 1/10th thunder is MUCH bigger than the 1/14 144. Some people complained that the remote is too small, but (as a really big guy) I was able to use it just fine. Love that it came with a few extra spare parts and the extra shell! Overall, I'm super happy with the Thunder! Totally recommend! The fun factor can not be understanded, and for the price I'm not sure it can be beat! I got a really good deal, and would definitely grab another Laegendary RC if the price was right! (I've got my eye on that 1/8th "Nitro" short course truck!) :) ... show more
