  • Awesome product
Size: 36 Piece Set
I needed to use this product for school and I was dreading paying the price thay these typically run. I was so glad to find this product and all of the gadgets that it came with. It was an incredible value for the otoscope along with the extra tools that were provided and they will be a great help in my class. I especially loved the fact that it came with the extra tips, Snelling chart, and all of the tools were easy to change out. ... show more

  • Great for Medical School
Size: 36 Piece Set
This tool is perfect for school if you’re starting to learn how to use these tools. It’s a great introduction and it serves its purpose. It’s been helpful and the price is not bad for all the features it comes.

  • it is cheap and if you don't need it for actual clinical work it works just fine
Size: 36 Piece Set
For the price, you get what you ask for. The clarity and zoom of the image is not very clear though

  • POOR QUALITY, CANNOT BE RETURNED
Size: 36 Piece Set
Yes they are inexpensive /cheap, but imo a waste of money. DO NOT RECOMMEND. True thoughts from an NP student : MD/DO/FNP/ACNP: Please move away and get the expensive / good ones! PMHNP / RN : Go get the $49 one (cheaper than this but same quality) since you may not use an otoscope/ophthalmoscope in the future. 1. CAUTION! this product is NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURN. 2. OTOSCOPE: the focus distance of the magnifying lens is exactly the length of the entire tip ----- which does not make sense! I tried to look at my hand first, I could only get a clear picture when I press the tip against my palm. This made ear examination impossible ----- you will never get a clear picture of the tympanic membrane(TM) unless you physically touch the TM with your tip (but who does that?!!!). I tried all the tips provided in the kit, but none of them could provide a clear picture of the TM. The best picture I got was a blurry blurry blurry "cone of light" (almost could not tell). Also, the original tip was full of dust inside. The dust will reflect the LED light and you will see a "snowy dust" before you see anything in the ear. 3. OPTHALMOSCOPE: The LED light is not bright enough. I could barely see the red/orange hue when first shining the light into the eye (possibly due to insufficient lighting and cold LED light color). Also, the magnifying lens on the ophthalmoscope is not clear neither, there is NO WAY to do a fundoscopic exam because I could not see any details of the retina. 4. LIGHTING: horrible. A traditional scope's light is supposed to be bright, warm/orange color. This thing is a somber, cold hue, from one tiny LED light bulb. 5. BATTERY: uses 2 C-cell batteries. C-cell batteries are not convenient. Plus, if you decide to implement C-CELL X2 which provides more mAh, why do you still make the light so dark?????? It is not even close to a clinic/classroom otoscope and ophthalmoscope. I can't imagine myself being a provider one day and assessing my patient with this... Not recommended for students neither because you CANNOT VISUALIZE anything and you WILL NOT LEARN. If you are a student and need to record a video for your health assessment class and show your assessment skills using a opthalmoscope, you should be ok with this product. BUT!!! ---- there is a cheaper set at 49 dollars with fewer parts, same low quality, uses 2 AA batteries. Get the $49 one if you just need them for the class play. If I were to make a simile, I would say this product is more like a $15 stethoscope. Eventually you will need a $50-200 stethoscope on the floor to really hear and diagnose. ... show more

  • Good for school not for clinic.
Size: 36 Piece Set
First, I decided to write a review on this after needing to use this in a scenario where an accurate instrument would have been needed. My son had a pretty bad fever so I wanted to see if he was had an ear infection. I’m not sure if my light has gone bad or if my batteries are bad, but the light was so weak I couldn’t see down the entire ear canal to see his tympanic membrane. I wish I had pictures to compare what this light looks like compared to the Welch Allyn ones I use at clinic. It’s a habit I’ve gotten into that before I use an otoscope I shine it on my hand first and adjust the light level if needed (maybe it’s just me). It was pretty apparent once first turning this one after using the higher quality Welch Allyn otoscopes at clinic that shining this on my hand was very different compared to that. Also, I hadn’t used this for months and after using this only occasionally beforehand the batteries were dead once I got it out to use this. I had to replace the batteries to start with. In my opinion this is great if it’s purely to practice or starting off. Maybe good for occasional use. I wouldn’t say this is good for clinic use or use for patients if the purpose is from a provider stand point. This piece of equipment was required for my physician assistant program materials, and I decided to go cheap instead of getting something nice that was going to cost $300 - $600. This did the trick during school, but I will say my school had simulated patient rooms with Welch Allyn wall otoscopes and ophthalmoscopes. I used that most of the time. There is an obvious difference between the two, a pretty big difference I would say actually. Now in the clinical setting all of them I’ve been to so far have this same setup so I’ve never had to use this initial kit I bought to practice with. If I came across a time where a clinic didn’t have them provided or I was doing home visits, I think I would have to get something nicer. At least for me to feel comfortable with them being reliable, accurate, providing the best exam findings/patient care. Pros and Cons: Pros- - It’s inexpensive, so if that’s what you need, great. - Tons of people in my class have the same thing too, so it should be fine with school unless they’re specific about getting a nice one. - It does come with a lot of attachments and different things, so it’s great practice. - if you get good at using this one first, afterwards using Welch Allyn or other high quality ones, you’ll be a pro! I say that because the other high quality ones are sooo much easier to see exam findings with. I practiced with these and then used some high quality ones, it’s a pretty big difference. - It’s very portable and even comes with a case to store everything. - The kit has a pretty good start with equipment and covers. Cons: - There’s not really a light dimming quality, it’s either off or on (not super important but other ones do have this). - the light is very dim compared to others (meaning ones that cost 5x - 10x more though, so cost is a thing) - it doesn’t magnify exam findings very well. - the dials on the ophthalmoscope adjusting dials might just be for show, I don’t think they really make a difference. - some parts are pretty cheaply made, thin plastic and thin metal. - batteries might not last if stored with batteries in them (my mistake). ... show more

  • Great for Graduate School!!!

The otoscope and all of the supplies are very sturdy, look very professional, and were easy to put together and worked well when examining patients, as practice for becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. I highly recommend this product! 😊
