I have been using Littmann for more than 30 yrs. have used the older version of the digital stethoscope which uses regular battery. This one far exceeds the quality. charge last for 3 days of about 8 hrs use daily. audio quality is very good. can hear through patients fleece and jackets. Worth the money. ... show more

After two years of rigorous use, I feel thoroughly equipped to share my thoughts on the 3M™ Littmann® CORE Digital Stethoscope. As a pediatrician with aspirations to specialize in cardiology, I've found this tool to be indispensable in my day-to-day practice. Starting with its noise-cancellation feature, it's nothing short of a marvel. In a bustling pediatric ward filled with distractions, from crying infants to the hustle and bustle of medical professionals, this stethoscope ensures that what I'm hearing is the patient's heart and lungs, undistorted. The sound magnification further enhances this by giving clarity to even the faintest murmurs or respiratory irregularities, which is essential for early diagnosis and intervention. However, while the sound quality is genuinely outstanding, I would advise fellow practitioners to approach it with a bit of caution. The enhanced clarity can sometimes exaggerate particular heart sounds. This is especially significant for those less experienced, as it might lead them to mistakenly identify a regular heartbeat as a murmur. For a product that has catered to so many of my professional needs, I have only a couple of suggestions for improvement. Firstly, the diaphragm could be a tad sturdier. In its current form, it has a tendency to detach from the chest piece with minimal force. Given the often fast-paced environment of pediatric care, a more secure fit would be highly beneficial. Furthermore, a slightly extended tube length would offer better flexibility, especially when dealing with infants or children in various positions. In conclusion, the 3M™ Littmann® CORE Digital Stethoscope has proven itself as an exceptional tool for my profession. While there are areas for refinement, its foundational features remain unmatched, making it an invaluable asset for any serious medical practitioner. As a former Fire & Rescue EMT I went all out and I bought this 3M Littmann CORE digital stethoscope to compliment my Wellue BP2 Connect - Blood Pressure Monitor + AI-ECG and O2/pulse finger monitor. I will be adding a few more items to my "set" soon. My declining health and doctors somewhat dictated that I get those and few other things. I decided that I would bite the bullet and get now what I could not afford as and EMT back then. Sometimes nice things just make you feel better, at least that was my perspective and rationale that I used to justify this. I will leave it to my favorite doctor in my Will! lol It is nice and works well, but very overpriced for me and my application- that of being the patient and not a doctor, especially a cardiologist and that is who this setup is aimed at. I would like to suggest that they have an APP that is aimed for people/users like me, but it is a HIGH QUALITY PROFESSIONAL DEVICE and I suspect that there are very few of the MEs out there that will spring for this and at the price they ask. When I saw my GP today he and his assistant were impressed, and got the appropriate amount of OOOHs and AAAAHHHs that one would expect. I like COPPER color and that is what I got with gold being to tripe and overused now-days I picked COPPER as my go-to metallic color of choice. I do with the metal earpieces would match instead of being black, but I bet I can make a project of it and copper plate it at home one of these days?? However, after getting this and more contemplation- I have decided that if I were todo it over again, YES- I would do it again. Now if I can find an APP that would let me integrate this S-Scope with the Wellue products then I would be a really happy camper. I don't have time to learn to program an APP to do it so I will just have to hope some bored programmer will and let me know! lol YES- If this is what you need and want, go for it- buy it and then ask nicely for better software if you need it (like me). I did not like the optional ID tag that I purchased with it. At any price (or free) is a cheap-out option to go with such a fine medical instrument and then put their name on it!?! What were you thinking 3M/LITTMANN? Someone in authority needs to see the packaging and quality and reconsider that option, seriously reconsider. Yes- get the S-scope CORE Digital thing and pass up the optional ID thing. Maybe use a gold paint pen and write your name behind the short hose, sounds trashy but it is a step up from what they offer and actually put their brand on!
