Honed and hand-finished by the most skilled artisans, the knives' laser-controlled edge is incredibly sharp. The sturdy bolster provides the right balance and acts as a finger guard. Precision-forged from a single piece of solid steel, these three rivet handle knives deliver optimum balance and safe handling. • These are not "authentic" henkels knives
Do not buy these knives if you are looking for an "authentic" henkels professional "s". These knives do not have the henkels trademark that makes them authentic. I purchased as a gift and was embarrassed when the recipient (who was very familiar with these knives) pointed this out to me. Needless to say they have been returned. ... show more

  • Carbon Blade?
Everything about the description of these knives made me buy these as a gift. When they arrived, nothing that made me buy these knives were words on the box or blades. Did I even get the correct product? Carbon blade, Ice hardened, no-stain. All missing...

  • So thin the tip bent!
I bought these knives because I have owned two Henckels paring knives for 15+ years that are the bomb, but those were made in Spain and I wanted the German version. Plus, the descriptions were excellent. The blades are both super sharp and hold their edge well, but just yesterday during normal, non-difficult use, the tip of the paring knife bent!! I then compared the thickness of this blade to my old ones, and was gobsmacked to find that it’s nowhere close to the thickness ... it’s at least half the thickness of not even thinner. So very chef’s knife has performed well, but I using the paring more and even though the feel is great, the bent tip has compromised the blade now (even when I straighten it, it’ll be weaker). ... show more

  • Amazingly balanced and sharp right out of the box
We originally owned a Chicago Cutlery knife set from Kohls which was better than anything we'd had before, but we had them for 10 years and the edge was starting to wear off of many of them. It was time to replace them with something, maybe even something better. Starting with these two commonly used knives seemed like the best idea. Wow! Such amazing balance compared to the knives we owned before. The weight is totally in the handle, there is plenty of room to grip, and the knives themselves are so much thinner and lighter and... sharper! On close inspection, you can see a very small black lettered stamp on them that says they are ice hardened and you can see a metallic black vertical grain in the metal. I've only been using these a month and have had no issues, hope they last for years to come. Can't wait to start adding more knives to the set. ... show more

  • These knives are a game changer.
These are my first two premium kitchen knives and I don't know how I cooked without them. I am frugal so I bought the combo to save some money. They are worth the money and their performance is top notch. They are sharp out of the box. Once they get dull and I sharpen them myself I will post an update on how that goes. I bought one of their sharpeners, so I will use that first and then break out my Spyderco Sharp Maker and whetstones if it needs more refinement. ... show more

  • Great combo.
****UPDATE **** Prices fluctuate wildly depending on the seller, wait for it under one c-note like I did*** Saw this set on sale for less than the price of solo twin 8" chef's knife. So I pulled the trigger. The chef knife is very nice. It balances very nicely at the first finger behind the guard because of the heft of the full tang. It takes a nice edge and cuts beautifully. The 4" is also a pleasure to use. We previously had the Henckel 8 inch chef knife made in Spain and it doesn't have that hefty tang it doesn't balance quite the same nice way in the hand. This one also keeps its edge much longer and is easy to get crazy sharp. Very nice knives for the price, don't hesitate great value set for a single Benjamin. ... show more

  • Incredible deal on two outstanding knives
It was sheer luck that I needed an 8" chef's knife to complete my wife's kitchen while this promotion was available. We already had a 3" and a 2¾" bird's beak so we didn't need a paring knife but the addition of a 4" is quite welcome. The price has dropped seven dollars since I purchased this set only a week ago but it's such a great deal I can't complain. Henckels Twin Pro-S knives are outstanding quality. The blades are strong and stay sharp for years. The balance point is right where the bolster arches back to the handle. The knife is heavy but effortless to control because it seems to float in your hand. I prefer it to the weight forward construction of other brands. Our Twin Pro-S 6" chef's knife is over fifteen years old and has never been sharpened, only honed on the steel. It is still razor sharp and is my wife's favorite knife for slicing tomatoes in spite of having newer and more appropriate knives for that task. You can't beat the quality for this price. These are probably the two most useful and most used knives in any kitchen. A great starter set or addition to any cutlery collection. ... show more

  • The only two kitchen knives you need.
Exceptional quality knives at a reasonable price. You're much better off buying this set than a similarly priced set with 10 or 12 knives in it -- the 10" chef's knife and the paring knife are the only ones you really need for 99.9% of all kitchen tasks, and you can buy a decent-looking set of steak knives to go with it for $25 and be done. These knives will last a long time with proper handling/sharpening. Well worth the price. ... show more
