This was reassuring, as shipping heavy equipment can often result in bumps and scrapes. However, there were a few areas where the product could be improved: 1. **Mounting Plate**: The winch plate was small enough to fit my SUV, which is great, but it lacked sufficient pre-drilled holes for easy installation. This made aligning it with the car mount more challenging than necessary. 2. **Protection Sleeve**: The winch did not come with a protection sleeve near the hook, an omission that I found disappointing as it can help prevent wear and tear on the cable. 3. **Instructions**: The instructions provided were not as clear or detailed as they could be, making the installation process more complicated, especially for those who may be handling such equipment for the first time. I expected the usual 'chinglish' but this was first class, very readable and grammar was excellent. My only issue was the font/image size. I had to put it on the copier to blow it up. Lucky i am handy , as the manual had 8 pages of cover their ass safety instruction but 1 page of hook up that did not cover the wiring very well, color coding was different than the manual , terminals not labeled etc.. no info on use of the remotes, (did not work), had to search you tube to find out you have to hold 2 buttons down to activate and shut down. bolts for the control / solenoid did not fit the bracket , and has no water / dust cover? otherwise quality of components seems good , thick wires no fuse for the heavy positive wire. ... show more

This winch was purchased after much deliberation. The old winch was inop and a new one needed. The installation was seamless, bolted in the same holes as the previous one. Basic functions work, wireless remote is great. For the money you can't go wrong, I'm happy....
